After playing a little bit on the Skial Badwater+ EU server I noticed lots of lag. Loss should never be above 0 and on your server it fluctuates between 1 and 4.

Such a high minrate only produces lags and doesn't make the game better.

Please decrease sv_minrate to 30k or even 0.

You could always try to call your ISP and have them send you a new modem (assuming they lease/give them to you). Also, if you have a router in-between, try hooking directly up to the modem wired (also if you're wireless try wired to router) and see if you still get it. If you don't, then it's the router.
 
I did a traceroute to your IP. It takes 10 ms from the server to syracuse, then from there to auburn it takes 20-40 ms on roadrunner routers.

Ah ok, although that makes me think that there is nothing that can be done. If it only takes 10ms from the server to Syracuse then my ping should be 15ms at most. Considering that this now appears to be an issue with my isp, can my posts be split into another thread?

Another thing, 40 - 50 ping is not really that bad and yet I am lagging, any reason why that would be?
 
That's strange because that is my usual ping no matter what time I connect at. I can connect at midnight, 2AM or 3AM and it doesn't make a difference.
 
Well this is strange.. When I do a speedtest my ping to Hudson NY is 79, when I choose the Boston, MA server my ping is 45. My ping from here to Maine is 49, even weirder is that my ping to Tampa, FL is over 120 but my ping to Miami, FL is 58. o_O
 
There has been quite a few people complaining about lag so it's not solely my connection. I only get lag (with my ping this low) on Skial servers, other servers are fine for the most part.

I was just there and I've been running WinMTR, nothing. It's not unusual for people to start to "notice lag" when people start complaining about it.

I've been on and haven't seen you. Dustbowl NY1 server, I'm watching players skip and teleport about. I can get a video if you don't believe me, I go to another server and am fine, it's just skial servers or this particular server.

Don't need you to get me a video, it would prove nothing except you're the only one with the problem.

Only one with the problem when other players are complaining? Mmk..

If it was a problem on my end it's strange I don't experience this on any other server.
 
Okay, there is only one way to determine if it's on my end.. I'll call my Isp up later, explain the problem to them and set up an appointment for them to check the lines and pole as well as my configuration. Other than that I don't know, maybe the server will start lagging again when more people are on.

I'll try playing there some more tomorrow, but it's late now. Up until I left a few mins ago I still have not noticed anything.

Give WinMTR a run next time you notice issues, just pop use1.skial.com into the input box.
