Sufficiently Lethal Scout
So I got this little problem that just started happening recently, these triangular holes are popping up in the characters, and its kinda weird. I don't know much about PCs or graphics, so if any of you know what to do I would appreciate any help I could get. No matter how I set up my graphics options in game, they won't go away.

I got a ATI Radeon 4250 graphics card. I don't know if its a problem with the card, just thought I'd post it just in case

Some characters are worse than others, the scout is so destorted you can't tell that it's a person, while the demo man looks exacly the same

Go into your Steam library, and right click TF2 and click Properties. Click "Verify File Integrity" or something similar. You'll find it there. Hopefully that works.

If it's a laptop, it could be heat. Regardless, go to amd.com and get an updated driver.

Yea, we need more information to give you a good opinion. It could be some damage to the card due to constant over heating.

Does it appear as soon as the game loads?

Does the computer shut off randomly?

Does this happen with any other game?

How long has it been going on? Did you install anything new? Add new hardware?

Its a really crappy computer, doesnt turn off randomly, but it does move very slow. It doesn't happen with any other game. As soon as I open the loadout, the character looks fine, but then two seconds later the glitches start to happen

BTW the PC is a Gateway, ATI radeon 4350 graphics card, quad-core 9100e phenom processor, 4GBDDR2 Ram

Newest the version of direct x and graphics drivers?

Do you have and launch commands like -dxlevel?

His GPU is idling at 55c, I got him speeding up the fans, might be a losing battle, vidcard might be dying, but atleast it's still being recognized for the moment.

If it's a desktop, motherboard probably doesn't have a dedicated GPU to have a fan.

You're probably correct on this, I didn't think about that. But at the moment I think his videocard is fried, having him try L4D2 and see if the textures get fucked in that game too.

If it's a desktop he should really take it out and vacuum off the dust / clear the heatsinks out / maybe add more thermal paste if an actual part is over heating.

He's on an older rig so all of the above should probably be done.

I might redirect him back to posting some more information on this thread, it's quite an awkward problem if it's only happening in tf2. Multiple different ways to google it have yielded nobody having anything similar to him, atleast not since this recent patch.
