I've had this problem as long as I've had the computer but it's never annoyed me that much until today. Pretty much anything with contrast (for example, black text on white background) will fade and smear itself for about a quarter of an inch to the right.

I'd hoped this problem would go away when I switched monitors from an embarrassing beige '90s CRT to less embarrassing black '00s CRT, but this isn't the case and I doubt such a seemingly rare problem would occur in two monitors. Has anyone by chance had/fixed this problem before?

Get a new VGA cord. If that doesn't work than something is wrong with your graphic card.

If its not the cord or monitor it leaves a computer based problem. It could be going bad. Do u have a spare card to test it with

Try VGA first though. Then the card. This will help determine where the problem lies

1. Buy projector
2. Hang up sheet
3. Project computer on to sheet.

It's like a slumber party all day, every day

The new monitor I have came with a different VGA cord, and soon after I bought a new graphics card. I might still try swapping the cards and cords, but do you think my old graphics card could still be affecting the PC even when my monitor's plugged into the new one?
