Once you get around the late study nights, expensive books and materials, tuition costs, gas, food and electric costs, douchey teachers, douchey friends, and required reading of a book that's the size of your TV, it's not so bad.

i am in the process of sorting all of this out. I have a meeting with the president of my school today.

its all going to come down to if i have enough to pay rent next month. Due to the professor adding books

You really expect your school to help you out here? I'd be really surprised.

This is one of those situations that credit cards are good for. Welcome to the world of debt good sir.

my gr 12 books costed 340$, sold to craigslist for same price after grad

fuck. i buy books used. some of my books i buy are "specially designed" for my college and are a limited edition. so theres only one place i can buy them. which si why its so expensive.

if i do get the chnace to sell them, the prices always go down.

Good luck Zebra. I myself still have about 2 grand to pay, then my Student Loan will be payed off in full, so fuckyea.jpg.

"Specially Designed" and "Limited Edition" = "Has a Gold Sticker that raises the price by $100"

Just curious, but how much are the average fees of a standard college per year?
Just the college fees, that is.

Impossible to say for sure, varies by in-state or out of state, the school, location of school, etc. If I had to put a number on it, around here a community college is probably around $1.7k, while a larger university is around $6k in-state.

I never realized that books could be that expensive. My bro spent approx 400$ on literally hundreds of law college books in 5 years.
We had to give or throw loads of them away because our embarrasingly small house can't even fit them.

Hey I've been flat broke for 6 months now. Maybe I should make a paypal acct and ya'll can fill up the jar with money. Since you're all feeling charitable.

=P

Seems a bit low. For in-state public, it's around $8.2k in the US, for out-of-state public it's around $12.5k. Two year community colleges are around $3k. Private is around $28.5k average.

That's just basic tuition and fees though. Doesn't count books, or room and board if you're living on campus. My book cost has ranged from $400 to $900 depending on the semester. If you live on campus where I go you need the meal plan...so that's $2000 for the meal plan, plus $2500 for the room for the semester. I've lived off campus for a bit so I've spending roughly 4k (saved about $500) per semester now with rent, food, etc.

I'm really fortunate my parents believe in education highly and have paid for my tuition. I'm not totally "rolling in the dough", but I'm better off than most college students...and I have a job that pays well so I actually have positive cash flow month to month after all my expenses.

EDIT: My friends like to say that since I'm a Jew I'm naturally good with money. Maybe so.
