Want a suggestion? Is there any way to remove the chat bubble above a players head? I've noticed with all talk it really screws spies that want to chat, since the bubble will appear to the enemy team.

+1. Trying to get alltalk turned off on US Badwater is like slamming your head against a brick wall. If it ever does get turned off it's not very long before it gets turned back on.

Yeah but turning off all talk simply to be able to talk as a spy sucks. I realize removing a chat bubble from the enemies view might not be possible, but all talk can be alot of fun...it's one of the reasons I play on skial. That and the typical skial skill level is fun.

If you can find a plugin that does it, suggest it. Otherwise you are asking us to do something impossible.

I believe this is intentional by Valve. The whole point of alltalk is to be able to talk to everyone. Don't be stupid and talk when you're cloaked. I don't think anyone is going to spend the time for making a plugin for this so I'm going to mark this declined unless someone can present a premade plugin for this.

I can understand there not being a plugin for it, but I don't think it's intentional by Valve. And takethepants its not just when your cloaked. It's all the time, disguised an as enemy blue soldier? Great, but the guy talking shows its a Red team guy.

That's just the downside of playing on a pub server with all talk. Either way, I'm not even sure this is possible since the display of icons happen on the client side, not server side. So hiding a specific class (besides red/blu) might not be possible. You can hide the chat icons with tf_tournament_hide_domination_icons convar, but that only works when the server is in tournament mode.

+1 to this

It doesn't really make sense. Why should talking in all talk be a good way to get yourself caught as a spy? Seeing as if you talk without all talk on, they can't see it. So saying "Oh, well it's supposed to simulate the enemy team being able to hear you talk" doesn't really make sense here. It's like saying someone who plays Spy can't use their microphone to communicate with their team whenever they're actually participating in the battle, since you can't use it while cloaked or disguised.

And the "it was intentional by Valve" thing doesn't really make sense when you consider the other suggestions that are popular. Like the "Being able to see the person your healing's ammunition as a Medic" thing. Wasn't that also intentional by Valve? Or does that reasoning only apply to some of the game mechanics?
