Declined Make The Servers Non-Instant Respawn?

There may be a good reason as to why the servers have had instant respawn for months now, but I'm too lazy to go look for said reason.

I swore the servers never used to have instant respawn, but from my experience and hearing what others have to say...not a lot of people like instant respawn. Mostly because it breaks the game modes. At max I think the respawn time should be 10 seconds, no more, no less.

I believe Bottiger said before that way back before quickplay, 32 slot, instant respawn servers were the most popular.

Quick play doesn't allow 32 slot or instant respawn servers, but I think it got to the point where quickplay provides so few players now days that instant respawn, 32 slot servers fill better without quickplay than regular spawn timer 24 slot servers. Bottiger talked about this stuff awhile back but I can't recall what he said exactly. The jist of it is fast respawn is popular and therefore helps bring in players.

Bottiger really knows his shit when it comes to this stuff too. He doesn't just implement things that he just personally likes, he implements things that give the be results. He keeps a close eye on server traffic statistics to see what statistically brings in the most amount of players so if he's running instant respawn servers then they are likely better or at least just as good as the non-instant respawn 24 slot servers in terms of player traffic.

Unless instant respawn starts driving away server traffic, you'll likely continue seeing Skial running some instant respawn servers.
