Jarate exploit ban appeal

Hey,

On the date of 8/23/2012 I was banned for 4444 minutes from the Skial 24/7 dustbowl Texas server for a "Jarate exploit". IP: 216.144.255.163:27015
The exploit being if a sniper throws jarate at the enemies spawn doors it bounces off and gets them wet during set up time.
I have seen this been done many times and have not seen anything wrong with it, nor seen anyone banned for the offence. Even when admins are online, there was no problem with it. I believe I was wrongly banned for an unreasonable amount of time for a silly reason. Mainly due to the fact that i was (As i said earlier) Not the only one using throwing jarate at the enemies doors during setup time.
Im going to be honest, Had i known this was an offence, I would have stopped. I also did not receive a warning from any admins that were online, it was just a straight forward ban. I'm not sure if i was really banned for Jarate exploiting, or being a "COD fag body shotter". I really don't care, I would just like to see my ban lifted so i can continue playing on the only 24/7 dustbowl server I actually get good ping on.
In other words, i apologies for the "Jarate exploiting" and will make sure not to do it again.

Rules

The following offenses may result in admin intervention, which may include being gagged, muted, kicked, and/or banned. Depending on the severity of the offense and if it has been repeated, a ban may be short term, long term, or permanent.
  • Spamming.
  • Hacking (your main account will be banned if you are cheating with a spare account).
  • Using exploits (e.g., killing somebody with a flamethrower through a gate before the round has begun).
  • Any insults regarding race, gender, religion, or sexual orientation. Nobody on server being offended is not a loophole. This does not include simple discussion of these topics in an intellectual manner.
  • Scamming.
  • Admin impersonation.
  • Posting other people's personal and private information without proper consent.
  • Dodging (disconnecting and reconnecting to avoid being muted, gagged, banned, and/or kicked).
  • Sprays that are illegal as per the laws in the country where the server is located.
  • Harming your team for an extended period of time. (e.g., blocking sniper views, teleporter traps, refusing to help advance your teams position). The lobby servers are subject to stricter interpretation of this rule.
All rules apply to admins as well as players. Admins absolutely can not take any action against a player without a specific rule being broken.

Rules are subject to change as per the owners and operators of the Skial community.
 
A player jarate'd through the gate the round before, I made a server wide message saying not to jarate through the gate, you did so the next round.
Also, I ban for four days minimum.
P.S. I was talking about the guy running around with the cleaners carbine trying to cod people, not you. Nor did I ever use the word "Fag".

My mistake then, I was under the impression that you were talking about me since i seemed to be getting more bodyshots in some cases.. Honestly I was more concentrated on that then anything else so I missed the server wide message, and I kept doing it because I didn't think it was a very bad thing at all. My mistake then, I guess.
 
I find this curious to ban you for such a thing, when most pyros and snipers do this on all servers I have seen. No one ever complains about it, as it is just part of the game. You probably threw piss on an admin, and his feelings got hurt. Or maybe you were killing them too often. These admins have thin skin, so I would suggest not even appealing on here or you might end up with a permanent ban..

generally its someone spots someone exploiting and then reports it. Or you could be unlucky enough to throw it on an admin

I think you have our admins confused with fucktard buy-mins. Dont see how but hey, everyone makes mistakes.

exploits are exploits. people don't usually report it but that doesn't stop it from being a bannable offense. whether people care or not, if it's seen by an admin it has to be dealt with accordingly

and for the record, the admin who banned you lowered it back to 3 weeks and now you're talking shit about it?
 
I know it was lowered to 3 weeks, and I am genuinely glad for that. However, the truth is the truth. I do not see why this person should be banned for throwing a jarate before a round begins, when pretty much most snipers I see before the round begins are throwing that piss jar all around the room repeatedly. The only thing I can think of is an admin got his bee in a bonnet about it because it was done to him; while most people I know would have just said "it was my fault for standing too close to the door".

A dissenting opinion and they are already circling around. As I said before to you, I would suggest dropping this as they might ban you for life for disagreeing with them.

I plan to drop it now before I get rebanned for life for stating things as I see them. I suggest the op do the same.
 
You're not meant to be able to attack through the gates, it's a glitch, Bottiger has decided this falls under exploits and thus is against the rules on this forum, most people agree, that's it.

By the way, if you appeal your ban, yeah, it's possible your ban will be extended. Why? Well, because you might claim that you were doing nothing, an admin might check your chatlogs, and you might wind up with a longer ban because of stuff you said in the past. Has happened numerous times. I've never seen a valid ban appeal being rejected.

Two cents. And yeah, this really should be locked.

Agree. But personally I like throwing things at the gates, my sandman ball, jarate, and other things, I didnt even know there was an exploit 0.o
 
Look, you were throwing jarate through the gates. it is considered an official exploit

You were warned, and than you got banned. As for the length of the ban, that's not for me or any other person here to decide. Its Violets, since she banned you.

If you apologize and stop going on about how unfair it was, than i don't see why i cannot be lowered or removed. As long as we don't see you break the rules again. This is up for Lady Violet to decide of course.
 
Jarate does mini crits. Some snipers don't get a chance to throw their jarate because there are people that make first shots on the one that seems "threatening" to them. Throwing jarate gives the thrower's team an advantage because one side is taking regular hits(unless the enemy team has kritz) and the other is taking mini crits(from the jarate.) Also, this is an exploit. You shouldn't be abusing it.
