Thanks guys! I really appreciate your help. Also, any tips on maps like gorge/dust bowl where when you engage, there may be a lot of stray fire or like its a one way entrance and they're sentries, soldiers, demos, and heavies all firing at your team who is trying to get by?

Can't wait till Thursday for more free weapons! I am working hard on getting a fast learner. Any tips to also get refined metal faster and the price of the fast learner would be appreciated! THANK YOU
with metal all you do is either play A LOT to get enough metal to make refined or you can just become premium and buy keys and learn the ways of trading and trade a lot. Also for maps like Gorge and Dust Bowl you do basically the same thing as what the other people posted above maybe use the close quarters to flank someone or to just jump all out of a guy in a choke point.

the best you can hope to do is to use bonk to get in and behind or to push in on a flank. Scouts are flanking creatures mostly.

any tips on maps like gorge/dust bowl
Dustbowl isn't exactly a "Scout Friendly Map" It's known for bottlnecks and small spaces. Scouts are at their peak in open areas where they can move around and dodge.
I'm not saying scouts can't play it, there's two servers regs on dustbowl who main scout and tend to kick the other team's asses. (Me Maining sniper, they tend to go right for me)

Generally stage one and two are the best places for scouts who want to solo, stage three is very sharp corners and a LOT of sentry nests. (Oh god, all the minis... the horror...)

Defensive scouts on dustbowl seem to have it easier than offensive scouts. Due to Blu not having as many sentries as Red, and the way Dustbowl is designed to give defense an edge. As a scout you're going to want to annoy the holy fuck out of the snipers, engies, medics, and spies. There's only so many sniper spots in Dustbowl, and all of them give a scout an easy way to flank and kill the sniper (Taunt kill if you're ballsy).

Engies are going to build in the same spots every sodding match, memorize those places. Bonk past the sentry, and take out the engies teleporters and such. He's either going to run back to base to rebuild which allows your team to kill his nest without him repairing it. Or his team won't have a way to reinforce the point.
Your mortal enemy on Dustbowl is going to be mini sentry spammers (I'm looking at you Mocha) I've seen about three matches where Red had at least eight mini sentries and somehow it worked.

Medics are going to find a pocket and stick with it, you're going to want to sneak up on the medics and take their asses out. The only times it might be hard to do is on stage one in the nest Blu tends to build, second stage, same issue, third stage gives you some flanking room with the tunnel though. Don't hesitate to bonk a medic who's about to pop uber which in turn kills his pocket. He's then an easy target. Remember, first stage a scout can jump accross the gap neat second point and get into the sniper nest where blu likes to hide. Use that to harass the engies and everyone else. Hell, get bonk, run in and open the gate for your team to wipe them out. (I do it all the time and it feels SOOOO GOOOD)

Then you have spies, you and the spies are probably going to be taking the same paths, both of you need to flank to get the most out of your class so you're probably going to run into a spy or two. Milk the bastard. Milk him good. Scout being the fastest class, you're going to want to check around for spies when you can (Don't do it all the time, just when you feel like there's spy, check) You'll be able to chase his ass down, milk him, and beat him with a fish.

Oh god, I'm ranting again. Alright well hope some of this helps.

To get better at scout you need to get better at aiming and know your role. You can't just go fighting a soldier if he spotted you. You need a surprise factor, like flanking or hiding to get a med pick. As people told you do a lot of mge and practice, practice, practice. Knowledge derives from experience :P

The thing that has helped me the most with playing scout is really aiming your shots. Don't just hold down M1 and point your scattergun in their direction. It's better to take slower shots, but make them count. Even though you are firing slower, you miss less and do more damage overall.

Badwater is a great map for scouts by the way, its really open and great for dodging and flanking.

The atomizer is the best melee for scout in my opinion. If you get close enough to an enemy to melee them, a good meatshot with the scattergun will dish out a lot more damage. With the atomizer equipped, you get an extra jump at the cost of 10 health, which can be extremely useful in cases where you are trying to dodge a rocket, grenade or flare. It gives you another chance to be unpredictable.

Bopper on scout i think plays with like 16 inches to a 360 degree turn in game.
Another guy i know plays with like, the biggest mousepad in the world and a bind to turn at 46inches per 360
i think swab is at 22inches per 360?
WOT M8

LMAO, they must have fucking forearms like a Charger.

I would say for a load out;
Stock scatter
Pretty boys pocket pistol/milk
Atomizer.

The pistol negates all fall damage, so you can just around like an idiot, it also gives max 15 health.
The milk is also good, because you can do damage, but scout die easily, so you can potentially keep going.
The atomizer makes getting around easy.
The stock is good because lots of ammo, quick reload.
