End of the day, people shouldn't be blamed for people leaving - if they can't stomach getting trolled every now and again on an internet server than good riddance to bad rubbish as the saying goes. This is a gaming forum, people in games talk trash - it's how the world works. As I said above, if someone is going to allow what some anonymous person on the internet bothers them then that's his prerogative.

I would say something profound to all you people who came here to troll, but I got nothing. You came to a farewell thread for someone you really didn't know, and then stirred up trouble
What he did was create a much better atmosphere. Many old regs (including myself) were attracted to Dusty by him and other older regs when Skial was new, when Bot was still worried about losing money. The personality (and skill) Genocide brought was to the servers most likely brought back larger quantities of people looking for difficult yet laid back gameplay. Also being learned in recognizing certain forms of hacks, he has given advice in ban threads with posted demos. Sadly, there is no quantifiable level of "building the community", but I would honestly say he brought and kept many people with him simply playing the servers.
That is all.

To answer your question, Isil, no, Genocide didn't invite hundreds of people. Skial has a machine do that. Did he ever get admin and ban people? nope. did he submit ban requests daily to keep the community clean? no.

Nobody came here to troll - I just called him out for what he was doing, which is attempting to generate attention to him leaving and at the same time trying to make the people who joked/trolled guilty for being themselves.
I'm sorry he overreacted to a situation but again, his own prerogative...you don't make a farewell thread insulting people and not expect something similar in return.

Exactly. The people who haven't developed tough skins are slowly leaving. That doesn't mean you have to make them leave, however.
What makes you think it is to generate attention? Maybe, like anyone would do in irl, he is simply letting people know that he no longer is going to be "in town" or is "moving". That seems like a perfectly reasonable thing to post. If he just upped and left some of us would be more insulted than not.

Then perhaps he should of done that without taking potshots on his way out and people wouldn't of responded in kind. "I can't log on to the forums without some random jackasses saying something." That isn't a way of saying "oh I'm leaving" that's a "fuck you" to people he perceived as trolls - who then of course retaliated to him and that is where we're at today. If he wanted to leave drama free, he would simply say he was moving on, had a good time, thank the people he enjoyed playing with - and say nothing towards people who he disliked. As I said, he basically provoked this.
Well...it seems like he did it for attention for the big spectacle he made it. he deleted every comment he made of his Admin application, changed his avatar to an insult and even bothered to change his own steam profile name after one comment saying he might need some counseling and another comment with an oddity with his hours being pointed out. I can understand a small goodbye thread saying goodbye and a small reason, but from a general view...yea. It looks like it was for attention.

I have to disagree. Isil has proven to come with some valuable responses and I think he's a valuable part of the Skial community. You can't call him a troll for thinking someone is attention whoring, that's just silly.
