It has a really nice theme but unfortunately the traps suck on dicks. I caught three players in the second trap and they all survived. Nice "traps".
Unless this is intentional - This is bad design. Is there any popular map that uses non-lethal traps?

Most of the traps are indeed easy to dodge and survive, and its not even if your skilled; second trap you just stand still and you can survive it. Also while the themeing is nice its honestly just 'duke nukem memes' expanded. Nice theme and nice concept executed horribly.
Look at Skibidi or Amongus, 2 good maps with good themes executed perfectly

It's such a bi dimensional way to look at it, but it's not entirely wrong

Old school map design is fundamentally flawed, and is unfair for players. So you end up with band aids like demo charges, spy cloaks and smoke bombs to function as stallbreakers. Avoidable traps challenge this and give more control over to the players and their own set of skills. I will agree LA Meltdown is a bit too easy and should be made harder, but I'd rather be Hale here than meme corridor maps.

This map is indeed, nice. Theme of the map is fun and enjoyable to many, including myself. I enjoy the overall vibe from it. And, i can understand people who are against removing this map
Here's the thing, this map is too shit for hale. Traps are 100% avoidable. And let me ask you, when was the last time that the hale won on that map? 95% of games, runners just get to the end. Now let me ask you this, is it fair? You know you're going to lose as hale, even if you try. If there's 1-2 players that are skillful, you're basically doomed
There's lots of other maps out there, and i wouldn't miss dr_la_meltdown. It is fun to play, but it is not even deathrun! Press the buttons all the day and lose in the end. Traps are suppossed to kill people
As opposed to long, instant traps? Avoidable traps AT LEAST add more gameplay variety.

In general, this map is very nice. The hugest drawback is the unfairness for the hale and the faint aspect of deathrunning itself
it would be perfect if there were less avoidable traps, or at least enhance the current ones so they are harder. Hate the traps, not the map!!!

By gameplay variety, I mean that traps move away from being nearly undodgeable and relying on praying that Hale screws up, instead incentivizing players to actively try and juke traps. Yes, LA Meltdown is too easy—I won’t argue against that. However, I am also making the point that traditional deathrun maps are unfair to the players. If it wasn't why even have bandaid fixes like demo charges, spy cloaks or pyro smoke bombs, hell even the increased player count?

How is it not deathrun? Because players don't arbitrarily die to the fire and forget traps?

Then, by definition, it should go on the parkour server. You do more juking than running, which means that this is more parkour than anything

Lets remove cocainum while we are at it, the maps short af and you have such little amount of traps on that map, Its more unfair than meltdown;
Meltdown atleast looks good, the traps aint that bad and I see no reason to remove it
