The YER looks nothing like the knife from the movie. It's not jagged and you can barely see the hilt in the movie. Were they really expecting fans to get the reference with just the cryptic phrase "Your eternal reward".
 
I still like the Hunted game mode.

If they ever released a Mercs vs Robots version of it and fully implemented the civilian with it I'd buy a shit-ton of tickets.

After looking up the weapon in Tf2Wiki:
  • The name is a reference to a scene in the 1992 film Aladdin where Jafar fools Aladdin with his disguise and then attempts to murder him with a dagger that Jafar refers to as "Your Eternal Reward."
    • The entry's description in the Polycount Contest furthers this by mentioning the phrases "Phenominal(sic), Cosmic Power", and "Diamond in the Rough", all of which are used in the movie.

My point is that the reference is too vague. Most gamers won't make the connection on their own even if they saw Aladdin 100 times because the knives themselves don't even look alike and are only associated together with the phrase "Your eternal reward" which is a common saying in pop culture. The only way most people are going to figure it out is if they watch the DYKG vid or look it up on TF2Wiki.
 
It kinda makes sense as it was said in the movie and when you kill someone you disguise. Like Jafar being disguised using what he calls the your eternal reward

Uhm no it isn't, lol. Plus, a lot of the references thrown into games, especially TF2, aren't really well-known, only a certain group of people will understand the reference.
 
References don't have to be easily known. This is just small trivia, no one really cares anyway.
