50 players is simply too much and it shows on some maps.
Personally I was good with 36, almost no Maps would break from it, Even 40 might be pushing it with certain maps like stupidity and SpongeBob I think 36 is still the best middle ground between not crashing and extra slotsMost maps are designed to be for 32 players, however if you go above 32 I believe things will break. Perhaps 40 or 42 would be enough?

There's other issues with late spawning above 36 people after mini starts but yes that is one of the main issues. But realistically this is gonna be a tiny issue compared to what will pop up running 40 player Dr.Is dr_stupidity's mention referring to the teleporting for Bonus Ducks?
If so that's because the teleportation logic for it was used with two logic_cases with PickRandomShuffle coming from two trigger multiples that fire an output only once per player.
Keep in mind this was before vscript was added to TF2 so this can easily be replaced with the teleporting vscript that wormatty made.
I'm planning to update dr_stupidity after the release of dr_pokemon_b2 which includes replacing all the teleporting logic with vscript (like how dr_pokemon does it) and respawning will also be done with vscript (so no latespawning).There's other issues with late spawning above 36 people after mini starts but yes that is one of the main issues.
