Especially this:

"Harming your team for an extended period of time.
ex. blocking sniper views, teleporter traps, refusing to help advance your teams position"

It's far too vague. Pretty much any form of play other than sitting in spawn could be thought of as helping your team advance.

It's pretty clear.

If you are referring to the high five thing... high five taunting is, in fact, "refusing to help advance your teams position"

Apparently it isn't clear enough if we keep getting threads about it.

We should just make a list of bannable actions to point to whenever this comes up, and avoid the confusion and name-calling altogether.

It's fine people just have nothing better to do than find faults when they get banned.

We've had threads about this before.*
Excuse me if I'm not going to link them. There are too many.
*Hint: they were all declined.

Because people are stupid.

refusing to help advance your teams position

It is pretty clear. It is pretty obvious that sitting around high fiving people, sewer parties, ect is not helping your team advance. Doesn't matter if we rephrase it, people will still complain about this rule.

I have tons of examples...

1.
Our racism rule. People still say "nigga" and complain because they were quoting something. Yet it is self explanatory in the rules.

2.
People flame through the gate and complain about being banned. When it clearly states it in the rules

The point is the rules are very clear and very understandable. The point of the game is to complete the objective. Whether it is to capture the flag, escort the payload, cap points, defend ect. High-fiving, not killing, friendlies, healing the enemy team are obviously counteracting the objective. It is obvious that it is not helping your team advance.

People are going to complain, it doesn't matter how many times we re-word it to someones elses liking. We didn't get to be the #1 community by having bad, unclear rules.

If people want to go around not playing the game, than they can go not play the game somewhere else.

But the fact is there are many ways to contribute to an advance. As I outlined above, providing a distraction to the enemy team delays their response to pushing the cart. The form of the distraction is irrelevant, only the result.

But more importantly, where do you draw the line here? What about the engineer who just sticks a sentry outside the spawn on offense and wrenches it all round? What about the cloak and dagger spy who just waits in one place and never gets a pick? What about the medic accidentally healing a spy? What about the player who keeps running in to the enemy sentry, feeding the engineer frontier justice crits? Are you going to ban all of those as well?

There is a difference between intentional and unintentional. All of your examples are just of people unintentionally sucking not someone purposely wasting a player slot.

Some of them have reason to be beginner mistakes, hi-fiving with the enemy team usually implies you actually purchased the taunt and have some experience with the game.

This is why we don't need specific rules idiots will always find loop holes to justify what they did

Except they can all be done intentionally as well. At what point would you ban me for doing those things which are clearly hurting my team?

You don't need to have purchased the taunt to high five someone else who has it. Many people were experimenting with it since it's a new plugin. If you don't want people high fiving the enemy team, then remove the plugin.
