Can't connect to servers...

Hi. I've donated and the other functions work, but I am never able to pull up the console to be able to type in the command for the reserved slot. The console won't come up unless I'm already connected to a server (a server that obviously isn't full). Could someone offer me some advice? Thank you in advance.
 
you gotta be in the main menu i believe. if you are browsing for a server the console will now show up if you press the button.

idk if i need to say this, but to bring up the console press "~"

I appreciate the info. My console won't come up in the Main Menu, ever. That's kind of why this is a problem. Comes up fine in game, but never at the menu. I appreciate the advice, though...
 
I've never heard of this happening before.

Maybe you should check your key bindings and ensure that you have the correct key for opening up the console.
 
I've never been able to open console unless I'm connected to a server. I know at least 5 people who have the same problem and I've never heard of anyone who's able to open console before connecting to a server. I figured that's just how it works in TF, would be nice to know how to fix this if it isn't, though.

That way the console always pops open when TF is launched but if it's closed it still can't be opened unless connected to a server. One way to solve the problem, probably works for FJ but I don't need console every time I launch TF.

Well I spend way too much time here so I know all the server addresses I frequent and it's faster to type then to open the server list and click.
