I am NOT trying to change your mind about your decision. I am just trying to get a better understanding about mic spamming.

I was under the impression that if someone does not like whatever is on the mic, we would help them client mute them if they did not know how.

( I.E.) https://www.skial.com/threads/jim-dale-mic-spam-inappropriate-language.56952/

Is this a sever we can't cleint mute on? Or is their something new about mic spam.

Again....NOT trying to change your decision for thier may be more to this story that only you know of, but trying to keep educated so I dont make false reports and waste your time.

Thanks, Dave

It entirely depends on what's going through the mic.

If it's music, most admins nowadays won't act on it. People who aren't keen on someone acting like a DJ can client mute them and continue with whatever they're doing.
If it's just someone's voice that people don't like, usually kids', same thing. Client mute and move on. No reason for votes or reports.
If -- like in this case -- it's just screeching, intense feedback, or other intentional ear-rape, then you can safely consider it micspam. There's zero chance anyone on the server would decide, "I want to listen to this."

Of course there's other things that aren't precisely ear-rape that are also considered micspam, so it's a case-by-case thing, really. The question you should be asking yourself before collecting evidence / reporting it is if what's being broadcast is of any value to anyone on the server -- which usually boils down to anything that isn't intentionally obnoxious.

Oh and it's fine to submit a report if you're not 100% sure we'd consider it micspam. Invalid reports aren't problems.
