Declined Banning for constant voice chat

Whether a kid's 12 or 18, I can't imagine anyone could enjoy him constantly wailing, screeching, giggling and all else on his mic with scarcely a few seconds in between. If micspamming through HLDJ or whatever else is against the server rules, mods should be taking action against kids who simply will not shut up.

I can't be the ONLY one who feels this way.

Yes thats annoying, but you can still call a votemute/gag.
It'd be really sad to BAN someone for talking.

One time, there was a guy on a server and whatever was playing through his speakers was playing through his microphone. It was very annoying, however a ban seems like too much. A mute seems more reasonable.

I'm not implying every other joe with a bad mic should be banned. I'm saying every child who screams over their mic without stopping for more than a few seconds at a time should be given 30 minutes at the least.
 
I suggest we take all micspamming kid and move them to CoD. Win win.


But with all seriousness, if they just talk too much and not break any rules a mute would be enough
 
I don't think it's really necessary, when a prepubescent is sitting on the microphone screaming his lungs off, I simply call a vote mute, if that fails I client mute him. As fucking irritating as they are I don't think it's right we allow an admin to action them. However, at the same rate - can't admins discretionary action people for being genuinely disruptive? I don't really think this is necessary..it's what the vote system is for, you have client mute, and admins can already do something if they're fucking ridiculous.
 
If there's ever a child screaming incestiantly over his mic, I just client mute. I tend to client mute entire servers except for people I have on my friend's list.
 
I was on a trade server one time with a kid that kept saying that, "he was too cool." and started being annoying.

Thank god (or Valve) for client mute.
 
I find it funny when a kid still talks even though EVERYONE has client muted him....

They can scream and talk to themselves :D
 
I honestly don't like client muting people. There's always that chance they say something relevant, like hey there's a sentry in that tunnel there, hey there's a spy right behind you, and I'm gonna be the only one that misses it.
That or they might start trying to trade for something I want.
Now I can't say for certain that there are other people with this same belief but no one likes squealing children out-screaming spinning miniguns. You can client mute micspammers but if that's the case, why make rules against it? Why are people being banned for broadcasting generic music if people broadcasting noise aren't even getting kicked?
