Ban Appeal

  • If you are not the person that was banned/muted, you are only allowed to post evidence. Trash talk is unnecessary.
Alright, well looks like someone who has a mic that actually works is going to have to do that. As for the second ban, Asking for ban lift the day after you got banned from another server seems a bit odd to me.

We understand that is kind of dumb, but I pushed him to make this thread because I wanted to play on skial with him, I had no idea he had gotten banned on gent yesterday

Sorry, Im not good with what each ban means, probably a good thing I havent applied for admin. I asked him though and he said thats the only bad thing he did when he was on the server

It is a cvar that is cheat protected, https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/TF2_cvarlist It would either have to be changed manualy, or by a cheat program, judging by the info I can find on your activity, i would say its the latter.
I'm not going to vouch for an unban, to me it just looks like you have run out of places to play with your friends.
At the end of the day it's up to Bottiger, he may have mercy on you, you will just have to wait and see.
 
Going to agree with maddo, You've given us two random voices that could have been anyone, and you've got two bans for hacking. Unless you can give us firm proof it wasn't you I'm going to say the ban stays. And if you do ever get caught for hacking I beleive there's a three strike rule in place still. So try not to do anything I wouldn't. Good luck.
 
from what i understand, r_drawparticle is a cvar. But i do not think it gives any kind of advantage. It is mainly changed to 0 to increase fps. Why it isn't included in many guides anymore is for the obvious reason that servers run SMAC or KIGEN or some other anti-cheating software. As it is not really cheating, it just part of the "don't change the cvars" part of the program. What it does it it removes effects such as explosions and smoke.

The question is, do we unban him? I could care less about r_drawparticle. However he should know that smac will ban him if he tries it again on our servers. Then again he is using a program to get around sv cheats.

I say we unban him. Not his friend. If he really is hacking smac will have no trouble picking him up. But i doubt it. His friend was hacking, he won't be unbanned.

Makes sense, Think he needs to delete his cfg though and generate a new default one. Whether it was a downloaded hack that changed his cvars, or he did it manualy, he's going to get picked up pretty quick if he doesnt flush his cvars. Still think his story doesn't ring true, but as you say, lets give him the chance to prove me wrong :)

I believe the sv_cheats violation only triggers when external programs are trying to manipulate it in game. If you just add it to your config, it will be disabled upon entering a sv_cheats 0 server.

that is true. i wonder if he was only using particles or is he was using more and smac just didn't have time to catch it. however the fact that he is using programs to change the game should be enough reason to keep him banned. even if its something like drawparticles


I have an easy solution, lets jsut make a poll. people like polls
 
Well, if it matters at all. I can say that for the cvar he was using it to increase his fps, I know many wont take my word for it, so I think a poll would be a good a idea (Although I dont think many people will want to unban, but it's fine, it's your guys' choice)
