I just noticed all the bp links went back to TF2B instead of Backpack.tf is there a reason for this or a glitch?
I'm guessing because TF2B has additional functionality that Backpack.TF lacks, such as CS:GO, DOTA 2, etc.

Yeah, but I would be more people would like to have the features backpack.tf has for tf2 than they would for the other games. I mean, we don't even have servers for either so what's the point of having something that works for me.

If you go to your profile page, than click on the information tab, you can still see links for both backpack.tf and tf2backpack

I changed it back. It literally took 5 seconds to load the last few times I opened it.

People liked backpack.tf because it had voted on prices. I don't think this is good reason to use a massively slower backpack viewer. If you want to price check an item you should just open the site in another tab.

voted on prices
The community only suggests price changes, but just like the spreadsheet, the admins decide if it goes through or not.

I like tf2items.com the best because of the item history, but that looks the worst of all : )

I like backpack.tf because I can click on an item in a person's backpack and immediately look up item history, outpost, Tf2 pricecheck, etc. See the person's bp history, if they are marked SR scammer or VAC banned, hotlinks directly to their Outpost and TF2TP trades etc. etc. Also look at little graphs and charts of their bp and easily filter items for whatever that's worth.

There is way more functionality to backpack.tf than just pricing :\

As for slow load times other people complain about this but I have never noticed it the site is always fast for me...

It always takes at least 10 seconds for me to load it on a computer that isn't terribad and 20 on a laptop. I still don't get why we used bp.tf in the first place.

  • Item history, backpack history: this is a nice feature, but it's main purpose is to detect suspected scammers not really for trading.
  • Linking to other trading sites: this seems like a minor feature. If you want to trade with someone directly, you would pm them instead of looking at their profile at a trade site and hope they are selling the thing you want.
  • SR scammer or VAC banned. backpack.tf caches this data so if you are going to do a big trade, you would be better off visiting steamrep and steamcommunity yourself.
  • Little graphs and filters: do you really need to see a graph of the backpack's total worth and value over time, quality distribution, or items equipped? This stuff seems rather useless.

The reason why it is slow is because it loads extra crap like the graphs which causes their server to lag and your own computer to lag when it reaches you.
