Are all the good community servers gone? Help an old player out...
Sorry for the wall of text...
I pretty much stopped played TF2 years ago when I got out of the GSP business outside of hopping onto a random koth pub for a few minutes here and there. Since then from what I can see just looking at the server browser the game is mostly hosted by valve now with their own match making (that I have 0 interest in btw).
I used to play a fair amount in the early days (almost 2000 hours according to steam, if its accurate) and I really miss playing on the many community hosted servers that everyone used to run, with regular players, custom maps, and rotations. Now the best I can find are a bunch of lotusclan/skial 24/7 or stock map rotation servers, mostly full of *ahem* not very good players...
Does what I'm looking for even exist anymore? Hell, this subreddit used to have a sidebar with reddit community servers (some I used to provide hosting for) that were full nearly 24/7 but that seems to be gone as well? I'm not really interested in playing competitively, so that eliminates even pugs.
TL;DR
Are there any community hosted servers left with skilled regular players, good moderation, and custom maps in north america?
