Why should you be unbanned or unblocked?:
My brother and I both received bans for having an IP associated with some account with a gibberish name a little over four years ago. I believe my brother (Freakin Lincoln) had actually been playing on a Skial server when he got banned and then when I (Ribs Grow Back) tried to play a couple days later I also got the same message he got. It's been a long time since then and I've since logged like four thousand hours and never received any sort of VAC ban or game ban and neither has my brother (he doesn't play TF2 anymore though). I recently got back into the game and figured I'd try to get this resolved since I remember liking community servers more than pubs. I don't and haven't used any sort of VPN or IP spoofing so I'm not really sure how it happened. I nor my brother have used any kind of cheats (we even play on mac computers which I don't think can use cheats).

Your “brother” literally got banned 10 minutes after the “gibberish” account was banned. Appeal denied.

My "brother" and I are clearly independent accounts (unless I'd been independently curating two accounts for four years for the sole purpose of making this appeal) which you'd know had you even taken the time to look at the profiles associated with the appeal. I'm not really sure how much time between the ban of the original account and any other account you were looking for or if an hour, a day, or a month would have lent any more credence to my appeal, but nevertheless, it is a bit ridiculous to dismiss the appeal on this alone. Also, it wouldn't necessarily logically follow that if either of us were cheaters then why would the banned account have received VAC ban at some point around four years ago but neither of our accounts have received anything of the sort in that four year period. Anyways, my biggest mistake was spending my time making an account on this forums and writing up an appeal rather than downloading VPN software, making a new steam account, and checking the IP that the VPN gave me against source bans given that the latter was clearly a more efficient way of playing on Skial after seeing the blanket appeal denials you guys doll out here.

There is no way for us to determine if the hacker was you or your brother and we cannot unban the IP because whoever hacked can just make a new account and start hacking again.

This really isn't our fault we really don't want to ban IPs but people who make alt accounts to ruin the fun of others really gives us no choice. Any community would keep the IP of a hacker banned.

It seems like IP is a key issue in the equation. If I permanently changed IPs could I have my individual steam account unbanned (noodles)? Anyways, it's clearly a far fetch but thank you for taking the time to give a legitimate response, contrary to what I had received before.
