Additionally: I forgot to ask to unban me. Please unban this ip. My morning is dreadfully boring without some TF2 along with my coffee.

I am investigating this right now. I am seeing some fishy things. I will report back if I have enough time since I am on my lunch break.

This is really disappointing. I've had this account for years and nothing like this has ever happened before. Thank you all for at least looking into it.

The other 3 accounts That were banned on this IP do not have their Steam Community set up and they (along with yours) were all banned within a day. Seems a little suspicious imo but I'm not an admin so don't take me as one.

Which part is suspicious? I'll try and clarify as much as I can.

Admins wont unban the ip, you might get an unban.

There's no way of unbanning the IP?

Let me begin by saying that most of the data I have is from the last 10 days, so all of my claims only includes that information...

OK. Here is what I see. Up until yesterday, there have only been two accounts that has played TF2 from that IP address. Yours and this person: http://stats.skial.com/stats/hlstats.php?mode=playerinfo&player=156590 - " tђє קг๏ ﻮєภt"

You have played with this person multiple times at the same time, on the same server on the same team. It is obvious that you know each other. Neither of you have ever played on a different IP. So either:
1. You are two friends, brothers etc. That meet at an 'Internet Cafe' to play TF2 together or
2. This IP address is actually your residence and the two of you live together.

Yesterday, a few hours after " tђє קг๏ ﻮєภt " quit playing. A new account connected to that IP named romulusmark2020 http://stats.skial.com/stats/hlstats.php?mode=playerinfo&player=4511553
That player was banned automatically after being on the server for mere minutes for SMAC violation. This account has also been banned on another community for SMAC. I would also note that this account tried to connect to 2FORT+ NY, the most commonly played server among you and " tђє קг๏ ﻮєภt"

A few minutes later another brand new account connected to Skial and was promptly banned. A third brand new account connected a few hours later and was again banned.

This morning you tried to connect and you were banned as well.

My theory is that 'romulusmark2020 was the hacking account of either you, or " tђє קг๏ ﻮєภt". My theory is that it was not you because if it was you would have already seen three other accounts get banned, and " tђє קг๏ ﻮєภt" has yet to try to connect to Skial after those bans happened. BUT even if it wasn't you, you must have know who the hacker was, since you either know him or live with him. You probably even knew that he was banned, and tried to connect anyway. If he didn't even bother to tell you that you would be banned if you connected with your main account then he is a shitty friend, brother, roommate, whatever.

I don't see a ban being reversed anytime soon since someone on your IP address is willing to make as many accounts as necessary to get away with hacking. It is also obvious that you knew a lot more about this than you let on, and thought that playing dumb would get you unbanned.

Since you've been fed a little misinformation I'll try to sum it up. Chuck is the only admin in this thread at the moment afaik. Generally appeals take more than a few hours to get over especially in your circumstances.

What was meant by the above post is that the cybercafe ip more than likely will not end up unbanned, if they decide to accept your appeal and revoke the ban they will only unban your home IP.

As for everything else, you'll have to wait for chuckwagon. I'd suggest just check back every hour or two.

Edit:
Nevermind, Chuck replied as I was typing this.

I think it would be safe to unban his account and just leave the IP banned. Since it is obviously two different people.

Okay, time for clarifications!

The Pro Gent is a friend of mine. There's never been any interest in hacking from either of us. We really do play at an internet cafe in Astoria, Queens, New York. I can give the address if you'd like as well as a phone number if any of you want to check the validity of that. This is definitely not a residence and I'm not sure how we got to that conclusion. Again, I can give you a yelp store page and you can verify that I'm actually telling the truth.
Yesterday, we did sit down together to play for about an hour (I played for an hour or so, he played longer). After that, whatever happened is the big question.

In all honesty guys, I really just want to play some TF2 :win:

In all honestly I highly doubt a public wifi spot is the cool place to go to play TF2. It would be a huge coincidence if some random guy just happened to show up there and started hacking.

Screw it: here's the yelp page Astoria Internet.

I'm here right now playing on some sub quality server hoping this gets settled quickly but I'm assuming it won't be because of the situation.

A & J Internet Cafe and Access Internet Cafe are at least 10 blocks away from the IP that you were banned from.
You are closer to Lucky 7 Cafe but that place seems to be closed, and it is still several blocks away from your location.

I'm actually on the same block/street as Lucky 7. Less than 100 feet. They closed down several months ago. Was a gambling ring or something.

OK- I've got good news, and bad news.

Good News, I've unbanned your account. This Steam Account will now be able to play on Skial Servers again.

Bad News- I am leaving IP banned. We ban public VPN's for the same reasoning, that it is too easy to anonymously hack from these locations with very little repercussion. You will have to find somewhere else to play. Some hacker ruined that for you, and we have to protect our servers.

Can't complain with that. I appreciate you guys looking into this. This looks like it's a fulltime job for you guys and I can definitely appreciate the effort you guys are putting into it. Thanks again.
