I was on the server late last night, came in, found some guys were arguing about 9/11, and some guy brought up that it was a conspiracy theory. I got into a trolling mood and made some dumb comments about Alex Jones, which set both users off into a flame war against each other. One of them =LordThree=, got particularly insulting, so I mocked him with the usual "You mad?" calmly and what-not, because he was, again, insulting the other user and insulting me. I laughed at how mad he was getting and some others did too, and I told him I was sorry for trolling him, it was just too easy. I remained quiet after, but for the next 5-10 minutes, he did nothing but keep bringing me up, yelling at me and saying I "needed to f*cking chill out!". I told him to shut up, and he was continuously votemuted; he never once chose to mute me via menu (he claimed later "I was trying to see how far I could go before I got kicked"), and every time I stayed quiet, never said a word, he kept yelling about me being an "annoying pussy" or "bitch". I wasn't angry or upset at all, nor did I insult him, I just kept trolling him, much to the amusement of the rest of the server. He simply refused to be quiet, even though I kept trying to let it die.​

Yeah, trolling's immature, but I didn't go out of my way to attack the guy. He just wouldn't quit. By the end of it, judging from voice and text chat from other users, he was infinitely more annoying than I was, and I had already stopped trolling.​

So yeah, I apologize for the immaturity, but again, I tried to be mature, he just wouldn't stop, then tried to say I was insulting him and wouldn't leave him alone. You can ask any other user who was on, I think they can attest to what happened. Maybe an admin warning would've been better, I don't know, but I do respectfully ask to be unmuted.​
 
We do not silence people for insulting players. Fluxcap, can you please explain why you silenced him for this.

I would unsilence you know, but I want to know the exact reason from fluxcap before blindly unsilencing you.

I'd also like to say, I -DID- apologize for trolling him at first, him and the other user both, though of course, =LordThree= responded with something along the lines of "Dude, that's gay, shut up".
 
I am not trying to start an argument here. Just trying to make sure we are all on the same page.

first off, why did you skip a one day silence and go to to a three day then a one week? You silenced him twice for the same offense.

Spamming the votemenu? He called one vote today.
Sexism, that's debatable but completely up to you.
Fags, well up to you again.

Also, if you saw all those things you need to put that in the reason. Because "insulting players" is not a valid reason to ban/silence someone.
 
All of that sexism was done days ago because a kid named Robert was yelling at people/giving orders on 2fort; someone called him a "fag" and he replied that he had a girlfriend, therefore he wasn't a "fag", so I made some dumb comments in text chat after he muted me. I mean, again, it was immature and I shouldn't have done it, but I don't see how it makes for a week voice/text mute.
 
I saw that he had been vote silence 8? times before through vote menu and the 2 silence's for the same thing was a mistake I made. Anyway since he apologized I was going to unsilence him. Just want to say that it was late when this was brought to my attention and I saw the multiple silence's he had and I thought that I should make it longer then just 3 days

Well, yeah, I had been votesilenced before, and the immaturity part is my fault; but I don't see why individuals don't just mute me when I've trolled them. But, I'll tone down the trolling, for sure. I'm glad we could talk this out.
 
Hey man its cool i am not saying you are right or wrong in the final decision or length. I am just trying to get it explained so he and everyone else knows. And trying to clarify the rules a little bit.
 
You should try to be a little more specific in sourcebans as well. Try to summarize it in terms used in the rules.

i.e Racism/Votemenu Abuse/Sexism
