yes, I often tells my friend they got no skill and they would never make me rage, don't be ridiculous. Also this is pretty clean, none of us are insulting each other, and we're giving our opinion and issues here, just because you don't like some of the things we're pointing out doesn't mean it's not clean.

Granted, I was a part of that a couple times but that was against someone who was breaking rules. Not against some player who's just in the wrong spot at the wrong time. My point is, it's bad enough that the gaming community has a whole lot of assholes in it already. Why not try and make it better?

I doubt it would get better even if there was a rule against it.

Yes, I do tell my friends that. And they say the same things back. But we don't take each other seriously because we know we're joking. This is still not the point of this thread.

Again, not a rule but it would be better if people were more active in stopping it from happening.

I guess but I still don't think most people would even try to stop it. Client mute is your best friend.

So why should we when we know it is not harassment? It's not like we are heartless bastards. We know the difference between trash talk and legit cyberbullying. Need we be reminded of the instance where personal info was leaked? We handled that to the best of our abilities.

Anytime a person is on the internet, whether by social media or an online game, there will be pot-stirrers who try to get a rise out of people. It comes with the territory. We aren't going to seek out simple teasing like we are in pre-k.

I know firsthand the effects of bullying and how it can affect a psyche. What you are suggesting is noble, in some respects at least, but foolish in this day and age. The solution is simple: mute them and ignore them. Take away the power of the one hurling insults and harassment and they will wear down.

Someone bring a dick? Literally just don't look at what they say, you have plenty of options. It sucks when someone is bullied for no reason, but oh well. No one will remember them tomorrow. They'll go back to being anonymous soon enough.

Because not many people know the difference. That's the problem. If it happens, people will just write it off as "it's just shit talking" or "it's just the internet". The whole point of this thread was to do something about it. Have more people aware about cyber bullying and the sort or have more people active in stopping it from happening.

Let me ask you something...When these so called bullies are doing what they do, do they threaten you with physical violence that they could actually do? Take your lunch money? Spit in your face even? I will go ahead and answer that, NO they do not. When I grew up I was a poor, geeky mouth breather and man did I get shit all day every day. One day these kids hurt my feelings so bad I told my parents so they would protect me. Guess what I was told Renegade.....thats right stand up for yourself, fight back and ignore them. No my parents didn't ask for state legislature to pass anti bullying laws, they didn't put me in a bubble so I would be safe. I had to figure it out that the world is a MOTHER FUCKER and will chew you up and spit you out. Nothing anyone can say to you online can amount to shit unless you let them by giving them the satisfaction of listening to the crap they spread. Instead of looking for others to fight your battles do it yourself for once and maybe you might shock yourself. Saying I have heard and isn't said enough anymore "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me."

Yes. I went through that in high school and middle school. I've seen people go through the same thing. I'm saying that people who go through this stuff shouldn't have to stand alone. If you see it happening, why not help them? Why make them have to stand up by themselves when you can help them? This is a gaming community, right? So shouldn't people generally look out for each other? The point of a game is to have fun with other people. A source of entertainment. So if people are getting harassed and bullied constantly, why not help the person who is getting bullied and harassed? Why just let them tough it out? I know what it's like to stand alone and frankly, it's a sucky feeling. I would rather have had people help me out than learn to tough it out on my own.
