The dam is broken, and I am unsure how else this could be demonstrated. It isn't a dip, it's a steady decline. I already discussed how the small upticks are only from major updates.
Muffin has some good ideas, and artic with his maps, but hell they can't just be the only two carrying this weight.

Your first sentence is nonsensical; what type of person do you think would flock to a server with relaxed rules around bigotry? The people who don't like it are already playing here, so yes, you would pull a more bigoted crowd. Look at Meganus' latest comment, it's not even a guarantee you would hit it big with the "edgy" crowd since you might lose more normal players in the process.
We are losing normal players as we discuss. If 3/4ths of TF2 is in casual, then what can Skial do to adapt to win them over (or back)? Let it die out until nothing is left but casual? I would not prefer to have that happening, so forgive if my brainstorming is being perceived off as radicalized to you. That's not the intent of the rhetoric being transmitted. It's based on observance of why players may prefer to go to casual instead, and partially also because players dont know how to navigate community servers for being extremely noobie.
It's not a guarantee but at least try to reverse the decreasing count rather than contributing nothing, right? That truth nuke thread just got all over the place and I didn't want to comment any reasoning or such when perspectives were at war. I was from DR EU before its downfall, and nobody was tracking on CT being a root cause of it. It could actually be entirely separate from what we know because there was a group responsible for seeding the server until they gave up. In my experience, this suggestion wouldn't have changed anything in EU because slurs were not even stated. Not to bridge my ignorance to be the reason. It could be, it could not be. I wasn't tracking reports or caring about it during the duration it was active.

Perhaps we should ban the use of this word/phrase, I have a sneaking suspicion it may just be a subsitute for a racist word..
There is a difference between saying "wasup my nigga" and "I don't like niggers" one is actually racist and one is a term of endearment, it's a shame that people see the former as racism. It's also a shame that people get branded as racist when they are just mucking around. It's also a shame that people get offended at the slightest thing, but then half the time I think they just enjoy the drama or like to have some sort of feeling of superiority.
Anyway it's still a stupid suggestion for the reason it was made, but I'd give it a +1.
I'd rather see a suggestion where there are no restrictions whatsoever as to what words you can say, but any acts of blind hatred or bullying others isn't allowed and anyone reported and banned for such is banned for good, admins should look deeply into context rather than just seeing things like "I went to niger for my holidays" and dropping the ban hammer. I'd wager that probably only 1 in 50 people banned or muted for racism are actually racist, just because some edgy 13 year old idiot shouts "nigger" over the mic doesn't mean he wants to hang you from a burning cross on his front lawn.

Except for the fact that it's where all the remaining EU players go since the EU server died.
So if all of the players in the US Deathrun are European right now, why wouldn't they just join the EU Deathrun? Are they stupid?

Yeah, because there aren't enough EU players to completely fill either, but at least if they are on the US server they know some American players will join.
It's the same reason why Zombie Escape EU has been dead for years while Zombie Escape US still comes alive each day with many EU players joining.
