Need Help Allow anonymous alerts for ratings received

To clear up any confusion: this is not a "let us see who rated what again" suggestion.

With the recent changes you no longer get notifications from ratings received (at least it isn't doing it for me) so instead of getting no notifications what so ever when you receive a rating, would it be possible to get rating received notifications without knowing who gave you the rating?

For example, if someone rates a post of yours 'agree' then it would come up in alerts as "You received x1 agree in [insert thread]" compared to "So and so rate your post agree in [insert thread]"

Why? Not sure about others, but I personally like to get a idea of the feedback that my posts are getting

Yes you could go check your posts individually but that would be a pain in the ass

If it can't be done or simply isn't worth it then I understand, just figured I'd throw this suggestion out there if ratings aren't going back to what they once were

The idea you mentioned seems cool though.

Yeah I noticed that before. Not sure why it does that

Regardless I'd still rather have some notifications about ratings received than none at all

The problem with being able to see the list is that you are afraid to give people a negative rating in case they try to retaliate.

It was neat being able to see who rated your posts. It would be better if we still could (obviously). But it would be nice to receive notifications, even if they are not describing which user rated that particular post.

That'd work too but I wouldn't be surprised if Bottiger removes that because it completely bypasses the 'anonymous ratings' thing

Ratings are there to provide feedback for others reading a post. If you are that desperate to see how well or unwell one of your posts was received you can go check on it later.

This suggestion is simply for the sake of convenience; not having to check back to each individual post

I'm not sure if I'm missing something here but didn't Bottiger want ratings to be entirely anonymous? This defeats the purpose of that which is confusing me

Not sure what the reasoning is behind the whole anonymous ratings thing, but I guess it stops people rating like sheep because their friend rated a comment a certain way.

Then you will have to find a way to live without knowing every time you get a new rating. I understand people don't like change but the other thread was locked saying "let's give it some time before we decide" and I think the same applies here. This thread should be locked for now... you could at least wait a week before deciding how horrible it is not knowing when you get rating.

I think that the anon thing is fine, but I would agree that a notification that you got a rating is good to have.

I would like to get Alerts for ratings if we do end up keeping the anon rating thing.
