So I've spent quite a bit of money on my main machine but I will be travelling quite a bit. My current laptop was mid range 4 years ago and let's just say it's struggling.

I play a lot of Team Fortress and will probably play quite a few other games on it.

Is an Alienware laptop a good investment or would you recommend something else? (UK available)

If you really have to get a laptop for gaming, then it's probably the best thing to buy.
You could always get a custom laptop from a specialist though.

Paying for the name. Go another route. In the UK find a chain that sells electronics.

There are definitely better options for gaming laptops. A lot of gaming laptops are actually based on chassis made by other companies, and a lot of those are sold directly and are customizable.
