+0 i know the feeling when half a trade server is afk, on the other side: minimizing tf2 to check out some kind of site (you know what site), and you'll be kicked

5 minutes is a reasonable time. Also, maybe close tf2 when you're looking at porn so other people can trade when you're jacking it.

+1. Should make it 5-8 minutes, definitely enough time to alt out check some things and go back on

Does the time work against you when your in a trade? I have been in a few that have taken 5-10 minutes because your working out the actual trade in the window.

There's no good way around that. What I do in trades like that, is Shift + Tab and move around for a few seconds then come back, every once in a while.

Does it even matter? Steam trade should still work even if you get kicked

I'll +1 it, I was in the Portal trade server with viper a few days ago, All but five people were afk. Not trading, just afk for a few hours.

But I'm not looking to get kicked at all? I'm trying to knock out a trade that's bigger than a scrapbank or a 1 shitty weapon trade. When your working on unloading two unusuals it can take a bit of time to agree to what your going to trade. The alternative is to spam the shit out of the mic to work out the trade.

+/- 1 Shortening the timer to 10 minutes is too extreme. 10 minutes of time can easily fly by if you're in the middle of negotiating an important trade or researching. What's the current kick timer if anyone knows?

There has to be some limit, because there are always idlers on the trade servers. Not people sitting and doing lengthy trades, people just idling.
