Include any commands you may use. If no person is given, use your own steam id.

1. On saxton hale server you see a group of engineers underneath the map. What do you do?

2. I build a teleporter that leads from a forward spawn position to the first spawn position. What do you do?

3. Samson calls a vote ban on a player and says "this guy is spawn camping". What do you do?

1. On saxton hale server you see a group of engineers underneath the map. What do you do?

The engineers are clearly breaking the rules by using a map exploit, therefore in this instance I would begin recording a demo and spectate the group, using one of the say commands (not sure which specific to use) I would give them a first warning: 'sm_say [player names] Please stop using that map exploit', if the ignored this warning then I would kick the players for a second warning ('sm_kick "#[U:1:58229921]" "Exploiting Map"'). If they returned and continued to use the exploit then I would use the sm_ban command ('sm_ban "#[U:1:58229921]" 1440 "Exploiting Map")... I've used a 1 day ban in this instance, I'm not sure how long this kind of ban should be- please take this as an example.

After this I would stop the recording of the demo and post it onto the forums so that other admins could be aware of the map and perhaps ask for the map to be removed from the Saxton Hale server to prevent people from using this map exploit in the future... if this is something that the community felt strongly enough about.

2. I build a teleporter that leads from a forward spawn position to the first spawn position. What do you do?

This would come under "Harming your team for an extended period of time" due to "Refusing to help advance your teams position", so in this instance I would ask the engineer to remove the teleporter ('sm_say [engineer name] Please remove your teleporter') as a first warning, if they did not remove the teleporter or otherwise declined then I would give a second warning with 'sm_kick "#[U:1:58229921]" "Teleporter Griefing"'. If the player returned to the server and continued to harm the teams position then I would use the sm_ban command ('sm_ban "#[U:1:58229921]" 1440 "Teleporter "Griefing")... again, I've used a 1 day ban in this example, this may not be the actual length for this kind of offense.

3. Samson calls a vote ban on a player and says "this guy is spawn camping". What do you do?

"Samson" is in the wrong as, as far as I am aware/have been told by other admins in the past, spawn camping is not against the rules. Therefore I would unban the player (I'm not sure if admins have a command to cancel a vote), with the command 'sm_unban "#[U:1:58229921]" "Falsely votebanned"' and inform "Samson" that spawn camping is not against the rules of the server... if "Samson" was to contiune to attempt to voteban people because of spawncamping, then I would ban them for this using 'sm_gag "#[U:1:58229921]" 1440 "Abusing voteban"'.

Once again, throughout the three examples above I have used "1440" for the ban times, I am not familiar with how long each ban should be in relation to the action which is being done by the player, this is the first thing which I will inquire about if I become an admin, as I need to ensure that the actions I am taking are generally approved by Skial. Please inform me about the correct length of time which these players should be banned for so I can be more informed in the future.

Edit: Not sure if you wanted example 2 to be your own Steam ID, if so then yours would be "#[U:1:33253768]".

Edit 2: Changed sm_ban to sm_gag for answer #3, per response from @chuckwagon

Good answers! I have a couple of items of feedback.

1. Warnings and kicks are up to admin discretion. If you feel that those steps can correct the issue, then by all means use them. But you can jump straight to bans and silences without any sort of warning.

2. Take another look at #3. There is another punishment option available that can stop someone from vote abusing without full-out banning them.

3. As far as your questions about ban lengths- as far as I know it is not easy to find (working on changing that) but we do have a punishment progression.
1st offense- 1 day
2nd offense- 3 days
3rd offense- 1 week
4th offense- 1 month
5th offense- permanent (when necessary)

I am aware of this, I believe that everyone (excluding hackers, or other extreme cases) deserves a fair chance to stop what they're doing before they get a further punishment.

I am not aware of this, do you mean gag (if so, I was not aware that this prevented the user from using /votemenu)?

Edit: Looked up sourcemod commands list, changed answer to reflect this.

Thank you very much for this! Does this apply for all things, for instance someone who is griefing vs someone who is map exploiting?

I was mistaken. That information is available in the forums. https://www.skial.com/threads/admin-info.82/

1. Chuckwagon calls a voteban on and says "this guy is team stacking". What do you do? You look up his history and he has abused the votemenu 3 times now.

2. A guy on the server is claiming to be an admin and says he will ban people if they don't give him keys. What do you do?

Apologies for not responding earlier, @KillerZebra

I'm not 100% sure if team stacking is against the rules, I'm going to presume it is not (not mentioned in the rules list and the remainder of the question seems to suggest this)- if it is against the rules please say and I will change this answer. This player has abused the votemenu system three times, therefore I will mute him for 1 week (if this abuse is the third, 1 month if it is the fourth). The command for this is:

sm_silence "#[U:1:83609105]" 10080 "Votemenu Abuse"

2. A guy on the server is claiming to be an admin and says he will ban people if they don't give him keys. What do you do?

Admin impersonation is a clearly a major violation of the rules, I would immediately silence the player:
sm_silence "#[U:1:58229921]" 1440 "Admin Impersonation"
I would then check and see if the user had any previous related silences, if they did I would increase this time, using the bullet pointed list for "ban lengths" as shown on this page

If the person had an admins name as their name (but was not an admin) then I would ban them, as this is even more of an issue if they're directly impersonating a specific Skial admin.

Edit: Updated answer for #2, clarified actions.

Good app. No inconsistencies that I can see either.

If I recall Bottiger did change the ban length "progression" a little. Now you only need to ban for as long as you think it will impact the player. eg. if they are a regular then there's no need for a month ban for a minor offense, since a week to them probably feels like a month.

As for the application I give it a +1.

Yeah, I presumed that some leeway could be given from the admins own personal discretion. Thank you for clarifying, and thank you even more for the support
