Thank you everyone for the support.

He's also embedded himself quite well into my discord server for current, and former VSH regulars, so I see no problem with him acquainting himself with new people.

I was pretty surprised at the amount of new people i got to meet within there, and hopefully i get to meet more people that are nice to me in the future.

Also as a update for my application, My IRL job recently changed my scheduled hours of work, so now i work from Friday - Tuesday; however, this won't change anything since i'll still be playing TF2 as i get home anyways as usual.

Please answer the below questions to the best of your ability.

Where I ask for a steam ID, please ensure it's that users ID, not yours.

  1. You're playing on Dustbowl with 31 other players. You hear over the microphone that another 2 users, Xantam and Kael, are riling each other up stating that Bottiger is about to change some things on Dustbowl for the negative and detriment of the server and that this other server ran by Xantam is superior and that you might leave to go there. You then hear them invite their other friend, Feral, to join them.
    • Do you punish anyone? Please explain why, if you do. Please also explain how you'd secure any evidence of this, if you punish anyone.
    • Please list any commands you'll use, as you'd use them in the game, IF you have to use any.
    • For the record, Xantam has no previous punishments (obviously..) and Kael has 1 previous silence for 1 day and a 30 minute vote ban.
  2. You venture into the Skial stats page to find something specific. On your travels, you notice one player, Jermaphobe, spamming "faggot" and variances of this, such as "shut up faggot", "fuck off faggot", etc. You then check that players chat history specifically and notice every line has the word faggot in it.
    • Do you punish anyone? Please explain why, if you do. Please also explain how you'd secure any evidence of this, if you punish anyone.
    • Please list any commands you'll use, as you'd use them in the game, IF you have to use any.
    • For the record, Jermaphobe has 2 previous silences for Racism, one ban for exploiting and 2 vote-bans for 30 minutes.
  3. You join deathrun, the map is on Bearun and the map has only just refreshed/started. You join red. You are too late to join the round and enter spectator for the duration. You notice a spy, ArayhMD, sat with the hale.
    • Do you punish anyone? Please explain why, if you do. Please also explain how you'd secure any evidence of this, if you punish anyone.
    • Please list any commands you'll use, as you'd use them in the game, IF you have to use any.
    • For the record, ArayhMD had 6 previous punishments in both silences and bans, from racism to exploiting the maps.
    • Be careful and read this question carefully.
For the record, it is very OK to not know something. Make your best guess if that is the case, but state in your reply that you are unsure fully how to answer it. We don't train you, but we are all available to ask questions to if you believe you see something but aren't sure how to handle it.

1. For the Dustbowl Incident:
  • Xantam and Kael are the ones being punished because they are spamming the chat with advertising a different TF2 server from Skial's TF2 server, My evidence would be to record a demo file to record the Mic users in question, along with using the status command in console to show the user id and steam id for use, Since it's Xantam's first offense it will be a 1 day ban, and Kael it will most likely be a 3 day ban because of his previous offense.
  • The commands i would use would be the following for Xantam:| sm_ban [U:1:54968694] 1440 "Advertising non-skial server" |, for Kael:| sm_ban [U:1:99413795] 4320 "Boycotting skial server" |
2. Skial Stat's Chatlog Incident:
  • Jermaphobe is the one being punished because of the use of a discriminative word being used in a varied time frame, My evidence would be to screenshot the discriminative slur snippet of his Chatlog, and as well copy & paste his chatlog in my post regarding it, since he has had 2 offences of being silenced and a ban for exploiting, he'll be banned for 1 week at most regarding the length of his chat log and how persistent it is.
  • The command i would use would be the following for Jermaphobe:| sm_ban [U:1:116254940] 10080 "Discrimination" |, i would also use| sm_addban 1440 "#[U:1:116254940]" "Persistent Discrimation" | if his behavior after the ban is not improved.
3. The Deathrun Bearun Incident:
  • ArayhMD is the one being punished if it continues into the next round thereafter since it's only the first round of the refreshed map since he's exploiting the map, My evidence would be to record a demo file of said player and the player playing as the hale. (i'll use my friend Gimpytron as the example of the hale player), considering ArayhMD's previous offences of punishments, his ban would be severe as in being a permanent ban. (i don't know any of his racism punishment times, nor his map exploiting times), and as for my friend since he doesn't have any offences and was being friendly to the red spy, it will be a 1 day ban.
  • The command i would use would be the following for ArayhMD:| sm_ban [U:1:40075228] 0 "Map exploiting" | and for Gimpytron as the hale player it would be: | sm_ban [U:1:34973583] 1440 "Friendlying" |

If i'm allowed, i'm going to put here what my previous VSP Admin experience would be for Incident 1 if it was under VSP rules.

1.
  • Would be the same as usual, but considering both players are boycotting the server in favor of another server which in turn would make the primary server lose players and Donation money(if said players donated); however in Kael's case since vote bans don't add into a normal ban and the server being boycotted towards is Xantam's server his ban is shorter than Xantam's, and Feral being another player that is leaving the primary server in favor of the other server they receive a 1 week ban for boycotting as well.
  • The commands i would use would be the following for Xantam:| sm_ban [U:1:54968694] 43200 "Boycotting server" |, for Kael:| sm_ban [U:1:99413795] 20160 "Boycotting server" |, for Feral:| sm_ban [U:1:300277302] 10080 "Boycotting server" |
The primary reason why boycotting was pretty serious for VSP because donations was necessary to keep the servers running, and attempting to cashback your donation(s) was resulted in a Permanent ban with no appeal.

Overall I am quite happy with the responses.

Just a tip, the ban command has to have quotations around the steam ID.

Code:
sm_ban "[steamID]" 1440 "[reason]"

Good. Just remember as above, quotations around the steam ID.

The command i would use would be the following for Jermaphobe:| sm_ban [U:1:116254940] 10080 "Discrimination" |, i would also use| sm_addban 1440 "#[U:1:116254940]" "Persistent Discrimation" | if his behavior after the ban is not improved.

Be careful not to enter into double jeopardy. If you're silencing/banning for a cluster of speech or for an action, it's one offence. If you feel the massive amount of racism or bigotry warrants a longer silence or ban, speak and discuss with the rest of the team first as by standard, we must follow the chain punishment lengths. Discovering all of the bigotry from Jermaphobe (in this example) would be one incident.

Also same again about quotations on sm_ban

The command i would use would be the following for ArayhMD:| sm_ban [U:1:40075228] 0 "Map exploiting" | and for Gimpytron as the hale player it would be: | sm_ban [U:1:34973583] 1440 "Friendlying" |

This was a trick question which is why I asked you to read it carefully. However to someone with no Deathrun experience or little experience, it can be a trap.
When a map starts after a reload or refresh, any class can join the hales side for that intro round only, the spy therefore did nothing wrong.
However, if this does happen during a standard round (after the intro round) then they are definitely exploiting and should get a ban. The hale, I personally wouldn't punish, unless they begin delaying the round end by not killing the exploiter after everyone else died.

Also to note, it does not matter if all 6 previous offences were 1 day in length each, that means the previous admins were at fault for not following the standard length chains. On the 6th/7th offence, you still follow what it should be, permanent or whatever else. They might get upset and appeal, you can still justify your actions 100% because Xth offence is Yth punishment as standard.

You answered them well, I won't knock points off for the last question as I assume you're not knowledgeable on Deathrun, you followed the principle well enough.

+1

I'm used to never using "" for the [steam id] section cause of my previous experience from VSP which it wasn't used, thank you for letting me know that the "" is needed for here, and thank you for the questions.

The last one is not something i'm used too since i rarely played Deathrun in many servers in how they functioned on first round and thereafter.

Do you think that threatening players is ban worthy?

If they're threatening staff players or attacking the server in question, yes it's ban worthy; however, in most common cases of players just threatening fellow players we had a command in VSP Ponyville that we used on them instead of banning.

The command we had was:| sm_happy [steam id] | and or /happy [steam id] , we'd use this command on the target player, it would change all of their say/team chat including their binds into various voicelines from the MLP show, and it was unavoidable, if it was toggled on said player, it won't be removed from leaving the server, changing name, or going into another server of the same server host, it was a great command we had at our disposal instead of being ban happy in most cases.

Threatening non staff players is not a bannable offense.
If they're threatening staff players or attacking the server in question, yes it's ban worthy

Most of my experience is VSP related in my application cause I've had to deal with player via player threatening which again was bannable (in VSP Admin terms) and or toggled happy on them since we had to censor alot of stuff for/within the server(s), threats against staff was just banned in general as common sense, and I'm pretty sure "attacking the server" is another way of saying "DDOS'ing the server" which i think is bannable in Skial as a serious offense.

Hopefully this is a better clarification of the subject, and yes I know in Skial, players threatening non-staff players is not bannable.

So far everything here has been satisfactory, I've done another round of vetting which was fine. Any other minor issues you have presented can be fixed if Bottiger decides to accept you.

Bumping to Considering. God help me, hate bronies!

As long as they don't mention VSP another time, I am okay with them :)
