Ive been hanging out with soo for 7 years now and have played with him on countless different games. Hes pretty good at tf2 so that gives him a sharp eye to spot shady players. He loves tf2 and spends most of his time on the skial servers.

Hes a dedicated friend whos always helped me out. He even helped me build my current PC when I had no experience whatsoever. Regardless of whether or not he gets admin he will still be a loyal player to the skial servers.

I played with soo quite a bit on 2fort, crazy sniper, never salty. And like magna said above, they have spotted cheaters many times even when I was playing with them. I had no idea but soo was quick to realize it. If you guys want help with hackers and the such and a good player, I know this will be a good addition to the team :) +1 for me, see you out there soo! don't kick my ass pls <3

I've known Exia/Soo for the longest time since he was an admin on old css servers, even back then he cared about upholding the server rules. Even against friends that thought he wouldn't care, and thought he'd let them get away with anything. Very level headed and fair, I can't see any reason to turn him down honestly. +1

Was a co-admin with Soo on an old css community called evo over 5 years ago. Never abused his power and he's just a fun guy to have around in general. On top of that he's just a great player, better than anyone I've ever known, and his ability allows him to really point out people that are actually undermining the integrity of the server since he truly pushes the limits of TF2's skillcap. Additionally I'd argue he'd be a community asset in terms of guidance and helping people understand the game since he really grasps the intricacies of TF2. Overall really cool guy if you get to know him and a very fair and honest person in real life.

This is Exia, a legend among TF2. FOR YEARS me and my brother have spent many arduous nights fighting to earn maps inch by inch against Exia and his crew. Though a very well respected fighter and TF2 player, through countless gameplay frustration, Exia has shown to be a very honorable and admired player, known for: active hours, vigilance, understanding of the game, and staying calm even in the face of crisis.

A glowing +1 from me, and many others who play Skial but are not forumers.

Mr. Devil ([U:1:208446607]) is reported for micspamming on a trade server. When you connect, he is playing this song over the mic. A votesilence immediately passes against him, and he is silenced for 30 minutes. He has no prior bans or silences. Should the votesilence length be changed?

Magna ([U:1:35646960]) is urging people to join a Saigns server IP on Skial's Dustbowl+ LA server. He has 1 prior ban for griefing and no prior silences. What commands would you use, if any?

For Mr. Devil: I would change the votesilence to a mute of 1 day using sm_mute "#[U:1:208446607]" 1440 "micspam". I would let him know that micspaming music (allstar) or recordings is not allowed on Skial's trade server. I choose mute because it lets him remain in the server and continue trading via chat. I did think about leaving the votesilence as is but, I feel that as an admin it is important to maintain the standard of how serious Skial is about the rules.

For Magna: I would give Magna a 3 day silence using sm_silence "#[U:1:35646960]" 4320 "Spam". Server advertising is against the rules and is considered spam. I would let Magna know why he is being silenced and since it his second offense breaking the rules, a 3 day silence should suffice.

Let me know if you have any questions and want me to expand on my reasoning.

Using sm_mute on someone who already has an active mute wouldn't work, but that's something I wasn't expecting you to know right now anyways. I was just looking for a correct length change.
In that case you would normally just edit the mute length in Sourcebans and remove the gag portion of it if you wanted.

Both correct, though.

Would it be possible to use sm_silence to undo the silence done by the votesilence in game and just follow up with sm_mute? Or, would you rather recommend going through Sourcebans?

I assume it is just based on preference. But, you may as well go through Sourcebans anyway since you would be looking up if they had a history of prior offenses.

sm_unsilence exists although for whatever reason I think it doesn't work on Skial.

Pretty much everyone prefers using Sourcebans for that exact reason.

I want to raise something about the following:

https://stats.skial.com/#chat-context/190160726
2FORT | NY 11/10/2017 - 10:44:11 PM Soo against the rules to friendly when the server is full
...
2FORT | NY 11/10/2017 - 10:43:59 PM Pianomancrow soo im friendly now dont kill

The following is a quote from our Server Rules:
Harming your team for an extended period of time. Examples:
  • Blocking sniper views
  • Teleporter traps
  • Refusing to help advance your teams position for a long time (usually known as Friendlying)

Being friendly is always against the rules - not just when the server is full, none of our rules only apply when the server is full, I'm not sure where you got that from.

Sorry for the late reply.

I do recall saying that. I had asked Kael on his thoughts for friendlying and the concept of "when the server is full" had for some reason stuck in my head at the time. I actually should have corrected myself at the time but, I just left it. This was an error of judgement on my part.

soo is a kind sniper with very unfriendly accuracy D:

as an unapologetic jumping fan scout, i have spent many hours contemplating how exactly i should come flying out of battlements in order to avoid their eagle eye and fast accommodation. often i learn that i need a better/new plan. when i am on soo’s team i always make sure to jump up and drop the intel on them in the hopes the other team might have a few moments of peace from this sneaky sniper. but soo usually just waves and says thanks ;) and then pops some poor mook on the opposite battlements ;-;

soo!

Care to expound upon that? I feel like just giving a + or - with no other comments doesn't help. Some information for the person to correct, or address, or for admins to consider generally helps to follow a negative rating.

-1 He might be the most upset player if you outplay him in 2fort, which means killing him as black box on battlements. If you legitimately think this salt stick should be admin I suggest you out play him for once and see how mad he gets.

I get outplayed all the time in 2fort. I like to consider each death as as evidence for that. I haven't yet discovered a method to prevent every death yet but, I guess I can accept this criticism and work on that in the future.

As for getting mad. I wouldn't continue playing TF2 if it ended up with me getting mad or upset over each time I am outplayed. But random crits can be a little annoying though lol.
