Hello, everyone, it's your old friend Samson applying for admin yet again.

I know it's quite odd to apply with my amount of activity, so, to get down to the point, we all know I gave up on TF2 for a while. I've been playing a bit more recently however and would make sure to get on a server for a little while each day just to make sure everything's peachy. I've actually been thinking of reapplying for a few months now; so here it is. Nothing bad can come of trying, no?

For those of you who do not know, I used to admin Jailbreak and keep it in check. I was well known for really cracking down on people, but the act was appreciated in such a chaotic server. I also wrote up the inspiration for the new rules of Jailbreak with some of the other knowledgeable admins at the time, so I know those things inside and out. On top of this, I also know a lot of regulars that still play on the server to this very day.

I ended up resigning for quite a few reasons. I have an addiction issue; not to substance but just to indulgent behavior in general. My eating and exercise habits were pretty atrocious, and at the time I was the only admin who was active on the server. It was stressing me out quite a deal. On top of this, I had a lot of responsibilities with school and big life changes lurking behind me, but those things have passed now. While I know for a fact I will meet new challenges soon by starting college in January and moving in with my partner in June/July, and in fact I was thinking of distancing myself from here because of that. However I soon realized that I missed the people here and that these things are far away and helping out Skial can easily be balanced within.

I assure you my intent is pure; to help not only Jailbreak but just all the servers in general steer clear of rule-breakers. I don't intend to play on the servers for fun but would be willing to monitor them closely and check in everyday for an hour or so to make sure they're okay, as well as make my friends list a place of abundance where I can help people once again. I take a certain pride in taking charge for the better, as well as helping others, and I really do feel like Jailbreak was a place that I helped shape into it's current form. It would be great if you let me help out directly again; but if not I completely understand. I will be 100% honest and say that my indecisive behavior is one of my biggest flaws, but I've been working on it and I definitely think that I have what it takes to become an admin again. I'm sure people will point out that I've applied 3 times now, the first accepted, second closed, and third current, but I also urge you to notice that there are current admins that have applied more than that, even, due to life circumstances. I feel as if I'm in a better place now and would be able to help out the community I hold so dear while at the same time balancing my life and my friendships.

Thank you for the consideration, I'd love to be able to help the community again. By all means please be honest with me in your responses.

Obviously I think you're a great admin applicant, but I would love to see more in-game activity before I give a +1, but I have no doubt you will work on that. Good luck.

Yes, I'm aware that my current time is quite low.
I'll check in on Jailbreak everyday from now on just to prove that I will once I'm an admin; and if I see anything that's blatantly rule-breaking I'll report it.
 
While I personally do like you and am certain you have nothing but good intentions, there's some stuff about you that just throws me off.

1.) Sporadically leaving and coming back a month or so later.

This has happened like three? times already, and while real life stuff certainly does come before video game administration, being on-and-off and inconsistent isn't exactly the best thing in the world.

It's probably just a bit of a power trip, I had a bit of one too. It's one of the main reasons I gave up being an admin because eventually it just got to my head and I couldn't handle that.
Good on the people like Kyle and Meowcenary who can handle it but still be strict. I'm too all-or-nothing to do that.

Would this be a reoccurring issue?

3.) Kinda ties in with number 1, and you've stated it yourself, but playtime and in-game activity, especially on Jailbreak, is kind of a big deal. I spend a fair share of time on Freak Fortress and know that if you're not in the server consistently, you'll be missing out on what actually happens. Reports are a different beast when it comes to custom (as I'm sure you already know), so activity should probably be amped up considering you mainly want to deal with Jailbreak.

Not going to +/- 1 at all on your application, just wanted to see if you had any particular responses to the points I brought up. Good luck!
 
From looking at past posts to present posts, I believe he/she would make admin without discrimination.

I'd love to respond, as these are all totally valid things that I expected to be brought up. I appreciate the fact that they were so early.

1. Yes, this was and still is a huge flaw. Like I admitted to before, I have strong emotions and sometimes they can cause me to make sporadic decisions out of fear. When I'm afraid of something, like say, my health issues I tend to make big decisions in an attempt to control the situation. A lot of the times I said I was leaving; my health or family relationships were suffering and I thought dedicating all my time to these things would make them better inherently. Turns out; that's not the case. Balance is important and life and it's not something I'm good at. I'm still young, but I'm learning, and I believe that now that I recognize this flaw I can make sure to put these decisions to rest in my mind and not act on them.

2. Not at all. The power trip that I felt I was having towards the end, in reality, was still me just cracking down on people breaking the rules. However I gave up warnings and took a certain joy in just keeping the peace with an unforgiving hand. I openly admit that I feel that not warning people for some of the small offenses I punished for was wrong. This is something I'm not worried about in the slightest.

3. Already addressed this; I intend to work on it to the fullest of my ability. You'll see; keep watching my stats in the coming days.

Again, thanks for addressing these issues Blade. I feel as if this was all that needed to be brought up.
 
+1 Despite some peoples opionions, a true champ of skial.


I don't personally know Sroy, and we've had a lot of abrasion in the past.
But that doesn't merit anything but a +1 due to game activity and know-how in admin business.

I dunno Samson. Think you're a nice guy but I have to agree with Blade. You can come on and off alot, and you did it with admin before. I don't see you sticking with this really.
