I am not exactly sure what you mean by system. My computer came with Internet explorer as the default, but I have since downloaded and changed the setting to Firefox. I had Internet Explorer as default for a couple months and it never opened randomly. Forgive me, but are you implying that it is indeed something on the computer itself, and not a problem with the browser? As you can probably tell, I am not the best with computers, especially windows. This is why I am so cautious about downloading things.
I was simply stating I do not feel safe downloading a free anti-virus off the internet. That is all. I already re-installed firefox like cr33p3r said and I will get back to you guys to see if that worked. I am sorry if I came off as rude or unappreciative, it was not intended that way.
I get what this is saying, but my entire browser opens, not just a tab. Regardless, I will try the things in the support thread.
Alright, thank you. I apologize KillerZebra, I did not realize you worked in the area. I should have not responded the way I did anyways. I will definitely try Malwarebytes and move on to the other programs if it does not fix it.Dude, Desktop Support is currently my job. 95% sure you have Adware/Spyware. It often gets passed Anti-Virus because in is not a virus, it is what is known as a PUP (potentially unwanted program). I would suggest like Meowcenary and Zebra, and others have suggested (btw Zebra didn't mention it, but he is IT as well) you need to scan with Malwarebytes and Spybot S&D.
In fact, I recently had a case where our Firewall detected a user potentially had spyware. We use Symantec for AV- and the Symantec scanning tool, didn't pick it up. I only found it after running Malwarebytes on the machine.
I already have McAffee which I have paid for,
I personally did not, my parents did so I just mooch off of them. :doge:I'm sorry, but what? You did? Are you shitting me? Do a quick Google search and you find that McAfee is shit. John McAfee himself admits its shit. You paid for poop. You paid for a thing that might as well be a virus.
YOU PAID FOR AIR.
