Playing Medic is so rewarding
So I'm just a pub player, even though I'm nearing 3000 hours. I enjoy the game, even when I lose but it's more fun to win. More often than not, however I end up on a team with no Medics.

I frequent Skial Chicago's cp_dustbowl server (I originally played on 360 with limited maps and it's actually a favorite) and I seem to do best when I'm killing the enemy team. But a lot of times the other team realizes Medics are useful and we lose because they utilize two Ubers to push through our defenses and we don't even have a Medic!

I've recently taken up the responsibility to assume the role of Medic. Like they say, if you want it done right you better do it yourself.

Anyway, last night we we're losing bad as RED team. We were on Stage 3 and they captured our first point fairly quickly, but we were able to respawn before they made it to Point 2.

I was using: Blutsauger, Kritzkrieg and Vita Saw.

For the 20 minutes we allowed them on the clock, we lost... But! It was close. We were able to lock them out for about 19 and a half minutes. I was the only Medic on my team and they had two (running standard Uber).

But during that match I did my damnedest to keep my team alive. There was a Soldier running the Direct Hit that I'd always give Kritz to (for some reason I couldn't find a friendly Demo using SBL). But the dude had good aim and I ended up with four dominations through assists alone!

All the thanks I got from teammates, and to actually feel the difference I made on the team was rewarding. I'm gonna start playing Medic more often.

TL;DR Played Medic, helped the team, felt I actually made a difference. Feels good to help.
