i caved and bought the game, got the same social club login crap that wouldnt load, and the reason was because my windows account had other letters than the alphabet and the numbers, so i made another windows account on my comp and just play GTA on it now, its really inconvinent but i'll go with it

If you have NVIDIA when you disable the card launch the game then re-enable it.

I have NVIDIA and Intel. Both are up to date. The problem is that when I try to set the game to run in windowed mode it crashes and then I can't re-enable the video card. I might have to wait until a patch happens.
Maybe. I heard that most people get the game only for the multiplayer. The story isn't that great I heard.
I ended up breaking down and buying it. Looking forward to playing it this evening
The story is great, but I can't play the online version until they fix the broken retail version of the game. It keeps telling me I need to sign into Social Club to play online when I already had signed on. Unless I'm missing something?
I was having the same issue. I was able to correct it by uninstalling my AV. Apparently Norton Security had been blocking some necessary ports. After reinstalling my AV, everything seems to be working again. No guarantees it works for you, but if it does, cheers.

Don't feel to bad in the early days cheating was really easy as well as duping cars, or they actually to the time to earn all that cash or paid for it
