Since my laptop is for work, school, and entertainment I like to keep it as neat as possible. Opening either file on my desktop leads to tons of documents and programs.

The only time I have actual icons is when I'm doing programming so my working directory is short and easy to remember. Then when I'm done I move it off to my dropbox.

Honestly I don't understand the point of desktop icons now that taskbar-pinning is a thing.

I hate taskbar pinning. I always make a traditional quick launch bar. I click a button on the task bar and a new instance/window of a program is launched. I click the button again and it doesn't open a new instance/window. Hello? Consistency? Where are you?
