Declined Remove/Hide Membership Ratings

I don't know about everyone else but I find the ratings I get on my Skial Membership just seem to be a pretty big social embarrassment. Just because someones suggestion or ban appeal gets declined doesn't necessarily mean they deserve a low rep and a lot of Dumb ratings on their profile for everyone to see.

It would seem more appropriate if we could at least choose to hide our ratings or have it disabled on the website, because this could lead into a lot of misjudgment.

If it was for the admins sake for membership ratings to be reviewed then i guess it would be fair for only admins to review the ratings.

Both of that are not besides this suggestion and there is absolutely NO need to bring that to this discussion, that's like me mentioning when you pet died last 3 months ago.

You should know better, even if you are a contributor

The titles are nice as they are something to mark the forum regulars, admins, and donators. As for the ratings, IMO it's not a big deal. I have 100 negative ratings, and I don't care about it, and the forum veterans have loads more.
 
Ratings exist so people can can leave a simple opinion behind without having to make useless posts. If a forum makes it so that we can hide ratings then there's no point to even having them.

sorry but my pet died 14 years ago so you're a bit late there

also how does me being a contributor hold me to a higher standard? like how david being an admin means he can't restate the rules you broke?

since you have 1k hours in TF2 you should know better than to hack

positive and negative rating is more of a gimmick, the same with titles. if you're so concern about those two then post more that are not stupid stuff. You'll get trophies to change your title and you'll get more positive rating, probably.

Few people actually care about negative ratings. No one here is seriously going to look at some negative numbers and make the assumption that you must be some terrible person that should be avoided at all costs.

And frankly, if you're getting a large amount of negative ratings it means you're more than likely doing something to earn them. There's a reason why you don't see decent people running around with tons of negative ratings.

Also, you only have like 15 posts. You're making a suggestion to remove something that has been on the forums for years when you haven't even been here for more than a couple months. If you've been here longer you'd notice few people take negative ratings seriously, and as I pointed out above you gotta be doing something dumb to be earning those negative ratings in the first place. Random uncalled for ratings happen but are very rare.

That's kind of a lot of effort to simply hide my "poor" reputation if you ask me.
 
If you did hide them. then people wouldn't know how you got the negative nancy award, and you'd be a hacker.
 
Maybe if you were mature enough to handle yourself like a civilized person, then you wouldn't have to deal with all these negative ratings.

Well that's kind of nice to hear, but I can assure you the only reason I get bad ratings is because of most people disagreeing with me, it just seems a little harsh.

if you're concern about your low reputation but not going to try to fix something you're concerned about, not my issue, but this suggestion is not going to pass. -1

What 'reputation' is there to hide?

Your title means you're new to the forums, you got 13 negative ratings.

I really don't see what is so damning about either of those things unless I'm missing something entirely.

You gotta expect those things. You screwed up and if you come a with a pathetic excuse, people are gonna rate you "dumb" or "disagree". With this suggestion, again, you come up with a terrible suggestion, you're gonna get bashed on it. Why am I even addressing this to begin with?
