I think there should be a rule against it.

I have told other admins about this, and they agree that it should be put in the rules as a punishable offense, and I just wanted to see how everyone else feels about it.

It is pretty game breaking for blu, to be honest. Maybe we should have a time limit of being in there?

Well first, I think armory camping should be defined. When I was playing on the server a while back, I was accused of armory camping when I was preventing the reds from entering. So, what is armory camping? How do you know if someone is armory camping? Obviously it's armory camping if a guard is in there the entire time but I'm talking about when a guard is defending and preventing the reds from getting inside. When would it be considered armory camping?

That's why I suggested a certain time limit for the guard to be in there, or for them to have to come out when a certain number of reds have stopped surrounding / entering.
Armory camping is essentially staying there even when reds are not around because you know if you don't someone will get inside at some undefined point in time.

Then if a guard is in there while reds are trying to get in, it shouldn't count as armory camping. I've seen a lot of people vote abuse and ban guards who were defending. There needs to be a crystal clear definition of armory camping if it's going to get added to Jailbreak rules. Just so vote abuse and an overflow of false reports don't get sent in.

I agree.
Being in there defending while people are trying to get in should be fine, but if theres no one standing at the door or ceiling entrance/tardis then that should be considered armory camping.

Perfect. That works.

Agree as it makes most rounds impossible win for the red as there can be between 2 and 3 blu heavy's camping.

-0.5 I think it should be a rare occurence of sheer teamwork and willpower that the prisoners -actually- overtake the guards. Not because nobody was home at the armory. You can get ammo from already dead guards.

Now if it's every single guard turtling in there, that's a different story.

I could agree with only 1 guard allowed to camp the armory.

+1 When there's three pyros camping in the armory and no one alive has ammo, we're all fucked. I don't have a problem with one guard, honestly, because it's not hard to overwhelm them with just two or three people.

Armory camping is certainly boring and a good waste of time.
+1
Especially when you have a crit-prepped phlog pyro and a airblasty pyro in there. THing's freaking impregnable.

The original rules written by me could stand to be updated.
I'm pretty sure we made armory camping against the rules because it's pretty much impossible to win when that happens if there's 2+ blues.
I honestly think all the jailbreak familiar admins should have a look and do one big revision of the rules.
I know CDAWG , Grima , and Avenger agree and would be willing to contribute.
It could lead to less personal questions, confusion, appeals, and more to have more solid rules.
