Right now there isn't really much incentive to earn AP so I'm trying to think of a few new powers you guys could add to change that. In my opinion reserved slots would be a great benefit and something for the dedicated Skial regulars to look forward to achieving.
According to this page there are currently only 7 people who have earned 7500 or more AP so this benefit won't be easy to achieve but it would help to ensure that the ones who do earn enough AP can always play on their favourite servers.

Any thoughts related this suggestion are welcomed and encouraged

There should be a competition and everything! This sounds nerdtacula-I mean interesting
+1?

Honest opinion, I feel like this would attract more players and playtime. Not to sound like a server hoe.

That is an extreme amount of AP and would require some extreme dedication to the Skial servers, which is a good thing.

+1 for this.

As far as I know, you aren't allowed to use any plugin that boots people for a reserved slot and still remain on quickplay.

If you do it the legit way, people wouldn't be able to auto rejoin the server, and would start getting mad when everytime they try to connect they get booted for the reserved slot.

I assume the quickplay issue is the reason it's not a donor perk.

But if these people are currently getting kicked by donors, then why would it be such an issue to include people with high AP into that group. Regardless of whether or not this gets accepted, the reserve slots are still being used which means people are still being booted by it. Also if people have 7500+ AP for Skial, they are very likely have their regular servers on their favorites menu, so why would quickplay be an issue in that case?

I'm blind. Didn't read the top thing. I do remember reading that reserved slots weren't approved for quickplay. If I'm wrong about it, it's a fair suggestion and I'm all for it.

Thanks guys I appreciate all the +1s :)
Too bad though. I wasn't aware that you couldn't have reserved slots on quickplay servers. *edit I was just told that when donors join using a reserved slot it'll show 25/24 players. How many hidden slots are there on each server?

I have a few other ideas too, I'll post them up after I thin out the list a bit

If it's done in a way where nobody gets booted, which I'm not surprised Bott figured out a clever fix for it, I think it's an excellent idea.

My only concern is that it's one of the main incentives to get people to donate, it always is. It's probably remedied by the fact that it's an exorbitant amount of points though.

Isn't that what donating is for? Not to mention maintaining 7500+ AP requires inordinate amounts of dedication, occasionally to the point where you need a way to bypass the AFK Manager just to be in a Skial server long enough.

I know for a fact that the person ranked 8th on that list has been kicked multiple times for doing so, although never banned because it's difficult to prove that over the course of a player's supposed 17 hours in a server daily, they were actually playing constantly, because no one wants to sit there in spectate recording a demo of someone else either in spectate themselves/running around in a circle in spawn for that long.

I just feel that the AP Points are nice to have, but if you want the perks of donating then you should donate. I don't like the idea of promoting something that subtly encourages breaking the rules in order to get a reward to continue to do so. I might be biased because of my experience with someone doing just that, but that's my opinion.

You might be exaggerating a little bit; AP isn't as hard to get as you make it out to be. I don't play for anywhere near 17 hours per day and I've got just over 7200 AP. According to my session history for the last 2 weeks my average daily playtime is about 2 hours. I could join an empty server right now and easily rack up another 500 or even 1000 AP simply by killing bots so I don't think this suggestion encourages any rule-breaking at all. If anything it encourages people to seed the empty servers more often

If I remember correctly, we do not boot people off for reserved slots. There is an extra reserved slot in the server. For example, if the server is full (24/24) and a donator joins, there is now 25/24 people in the server. This is why we have the 'problem' where two donators cannot join at the same time on a full server.

You will never be able to get certain benefit like reserved slots through AP.
