I don't really have any doubts about his effectiveness as an administrator. What I do question is how he acts publicly, most people on the servers don't see what cinic does behind the scenes, what they do see (or hear I suppose) is an ass on the voice comms. Is dealing with his flaws worth having him as an admin? Maybe.

Would it be so hard to slow down, mute your mic for a second (or not press V), then rage away at the stupid shit people do? I think it would result in a more pleasant experience, and seeing as it appears to be a common complaint, it would take care of that as well.

Please don't rage at me, or be pissed off at me. I don't have any problem with you, I'm just voicing my opinion here.

Wouldn't hurt to have more information about why you were removed though, is it because of the complaint yesterday + previous complaints?

Been doing that the past 2 days. Remapped my talk key and have calmed it down, as you can ask several people from 2fort today alone.
I don't mind your honest opinion, it is greatly appreciated.
It's a culmination of complaints from people about my actions. I have banned quite a few people, and banning trolls seems to instigate trolls, very often. And in the cases it was a mistake on my part, I have apologized as promptly as I could. Even when it wasn't my fault (apologizing to Ruelel for banning him for joining Classy on the Kritz spy on US29, and subsequently giving him a Rocket Jumper for him to use with his Mantreads).

I maybe fresh to the community but Cinic has always been one of the few admins that got the job done. I would come onto a server and get nasty words thrown at me because of my amazing value, he would get on and straighten things out before he would ban anyone involved. After running a community on another game I know decisions can be tough for admins and the effects they would have on the community.

Guys just give Cinic a break.

I agree with this, push to talk is an easy way to edit oneself and keep the tone slightly more civil on the servers. My roommates have occasionally complained about my raging at TF2, but at least this way it's just them getting mildly annoyed instead of fostering a lot of negativity in game.

I still think the reason why this happened all of the sudden should be shared.

Also, why is everyone getting so upset about his personality? Sure he's an ass, but it's not like he's the only one. I love playing with him because of the never-ending lulz. Is it suddenly not okay to complain about bodyshots and OP weapons? If it is, we're going to have a LOT more bans lined up.
 
Anyone going into a TF2 server who can't take a little trash talk, needs to grow up or get out. CiNiC doesn't do anything horrible that I've seen. There's simply a group of trolls who are mad cause they broke a rule and got caught.

And keep in mind what was said earlier. Would you sooner have me be an admin? You won't know whether I'll show up nice, or show up breathing fire or if I'll even show up.

I voted yes, and I can't be assed to write a big paragraph as to why.
I've only played on the same server Cinic like 4 times, but every time he's made a ban, kick or mute it has been completely in line.
If he kicks somebody for taking away from the experience of the server, or just spewing profanities for no reason, I'm perfectly okay with that.

I don't think there is anything particularly wrong with being an ass in game, however I would like to see an admin exhibit slightly more civility towards fellow players. While it's true that no one person (admin or otherwise) is the face of skial an admin is more of a representative of the will of skial (if there is such a thing) than the average player and as such it's nice to see them uphold a slightly higher standard of behavior. (Which to be honest CiNiC does in terms of being something of a TF2 purist just not always in terms of verbal abuse. :P)
 
I vote to keep Cinic admin. Who in the hell cares if you like him? Does he do the job? YES! I fail to see the problem? A few children get butthurt over words on the internet? Think of an admin like a cop. Do many people have nice things to say about cops? Are cops wonderful people? Point is, cops do the job they are there for. As for representing Skial. I could be wrong, but when I was on Skial, I loved it for the freedom to troll as I saw fit. Not sure when that all changed in the minds of the children we have on the servers now. Are the servers now filled with a bunch of over sensitive emos now? If thats the case I think I want no part of it.

and I'm not voting on this, I've played on a lot of server in the past four years and I have never met another human being that spits vitrol and venom the way he does. If he gets to be an admin, that's fine, but he needs to control his feelings and not use a video game as a personal soap box.
 
Offtopic: Age. Does it affect the way one does a job? ABSOLUTELY! Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against younger people. Fact still remains that their level of maturity will differ from that of older people. This is why minors cannot vote, cannot hold most jobs, and cannot enter into any kind of legally binding contract. You think all that is for nothing? Don't delude yourself.

In my humble opinion this thread is useless. Keep doing what you're doing and as long as Skial owners are satisfied with your actions - you shouldn't care about anyone's else opinions. Bottiger's and Roman's opinions are the only things that matter since they perfectly describe owners' expectations on how admins should behave. That's why I didn't vote.

And you don't think they take into consideration the thoughts and opinions of the communities they oversee?
