"Ghosting"

Telling the other team where your teammate(s) is/are when you are dead is not written in the rules. Yet people do get muted because they do so which I agree because it's not fairplay.

Can it be added in the rules? Or is it actually not against the rules and therefore not possible to have admins mute them if they do so?

A message appears every time you spawn telling you not to ghost. Griefing is among the offenses on the list of rules here on the forum, and those rules can be viewed via the !rules command through MOTD. It's no one's fault but the ghoster if they decide to break the rules.

It is in the rules, it's the last one: Revealing a player's location is not allowed. (not exact but something similar).

  • pamming
  • Hacking
  • Exploiting
    • ex. killing somebody with a flamethrower through a gate before the round has begun
  • Racism and other insults to gender, religion and sexual orientation. Does not include discussion of why it is against the rules.
    • Any form of the word nigger (nigga, nigg etc.) is not allowed even if you are just quoting a rap song or you are black, to prevent actual racists from using the same excuse.
  • Scamming
  • Admin impersonation
  • Posting others personal and private information without consent.
  • Dodging
    • Reconnecting to avoid being muted, gagged, banned, and/or kicked
  • Illegal sprays.
  • Harming your team for an extended period of time.
    • ex. blocking sniper views, teleporter traps, refusing to help advance your teams position
  • Abusing the vote-menu
    • ex: calling false votes
  • Abusing the report system
    • ex: reporting someone who is not breaking a rule.

Connect to the Jailbreak server and look at the chat when you spawn. There's a small list of Jailbreak-exclusive rules that'll appear there, and ghosting is included.
 
Oh. I'm not talking about Jailbreak only. ^^ VSH has an issue where people tell what hale is upto or where the last few survivors are trying to creep up to the hale which is not fun for them who still try to get hale down (which is possible sometime).
 
I would say that ghosting falls under the greifing no "Harming your team for an extended period of time." rule.
 
I support the no ghosting on the Jailbreak. I'm kinda skeptical about "no ghosting" on VSH.

The problem is, ghosting can be allowed in certain situations, like if the blue guard or hale is being a buttmunch and hiding for > 1 minute.

In Jailbreak it's definitely against the rules in general, it says that as soon as you connect. That should be added to VSH as well.
