For when something isn't dumb and you don't exactly disagree.

Dislike.

+1

would it be considered a neutral rating like Dislike and Optimistic?
or negative like Old, Dumb, Troll, and Confusing?

The disagree function works perfectly well. Not everything needs a middle-ground solution. If you disapprove or disagree with something someone says, you can use the disagree button. If you feel like being a douche, you can use the dumb button.

Well since "like" is positive then it should be negative. But it's probably best to make it a neutral rating.

not true in MEEMEE TIEM. if someone posts a pic or vid you don't like, you can of course rate it Dumb, but how the hell do you disagree with it?

In that case, you would be better off changing the "disagree" rating to a "disapprove" rating.

The word "disapprove" can mean either:
  1. Have or express an unfavorable opinion about something.
  2. Officially refuse to agree to.
The rating would be interchangeable and would work in both situations, perfectly. Keep it as a neutral rating, and you can completely avoid the need to create a new rating entirely.

Let's also add unfunny, unwinning, uninformative, unfriendly, unuseful, unoptimistic, uncreative, unneat, unold, undumb, untroll and unconfusing. Middle grounds everywhere.

I like this idea above so +1 but either way, an extra dislike/disapprove rating is very helping to express your self.

I already see KSG yelling about Skial copying their ratings system :D
Also, Scrambles is right, imo. "Disagree" suffices.

+0 for now...

I know of other forums that have the dislike button too.

+1/2
It's a neat idea, but I doubt it will pass, and I haven't had any situations that require it to be necessary.
Hence, +1/2
