Lemon bars. Not my prettiest work but oh so good. I love the tart/tangy flavor of the filling coupled with the rich and buttery shortbread below.

I love lemon bars. Doesn't have to be pretty to taste good!

Made random homemade cookies with my daughter today.. Either they are really good or she took a hit to the head.

Looks like a pretty serious cookie, you could probably do damage if you threw it at someone.

If I make em small then I will eat two. This way I can tell myself I only ate one cookie and not feel so bad.. Woman logic.

Cabbage Napolitan. I thought this was not going be good but a friend convinced me to try and make it. It's like Japanese spaghetti where they use ketchup for the sauce but in this recipe they substituted cabbage for the noodles. A pleasant surprise.

Interesting. Is that like a smoked sausage in that?

Yeah. It looks ugly I know. I'm not sure what kind of sausage I was supposed to use but that's what I had on hand.

It really is hard to dress up ketchup cabbage noodles lol. I was supposed to garnish it at the end with parmesan cheese and parsley flakes but I had neither.

That's the recipe I followed. Not to the letter of course but the best I could.

I really like her and Cooking With Dog for Asian recipes on YouTube.

This has peaked my interest and I am going to try it now. I like trying different things.

Hey :D so it actually turned out well huh? ^_^ good good I will try it this week too : D

its more of just a quick cure it was only in it for a few hours

Doesn't bacon usually take several days to cure? What exactly happens when you leave it for only a few hours.

Also curious what you use to cure it. Do you go with the special salt with the nitrates in it or play it risky and go kosher?

I've always wanted to try making my own bacon, sausage, or other dried meats but I'd never eat them and I'd be too scared of killing myself from botulism or the like. Ugh. I wish bacon wasn't so unhealthy.
