Ok so I'm bad at frosting but the cake itself was delicious. World's better than the first one I attempted a few weeks back. I really need to go out and buy an offset spatula though - what kind of self respecting baker doesn't own one?

I'm cooking up some more treats tonight so hopefully there will be even more pics to come. :)
Did you use the recipe I sent you? : O
p.s. looks great! worlds better than mine. Mine still tasted awesome though : p

I used the joy of baking lady's recipe again. It was basically the same thing except yours had 1/4c less oil and 1/2c less sugar.

Mine really doesn't look that good in real life. I think it's just because its on a cake plate and yours wasn't. As for taste I'm sure yours was better. Only one way to tell though. Cake exchange!!

They wouldn't last the trip : p

You guys look like you frost your cakes while they're too warm! Ifffffffff you want your frosting to be smoother let your cake cool and keep your frosting cool and then frost yr cake and it'll look a lot smoother and be firmer. but if you wanna frost em while they're warm they still taste just as goood.

warm cakes taste soooo much better! D: p.s. I did know it was too warm but I had a very impatient grandfather who wanted carrot cake at mid night so I just frosted and and was done with it lol

I have a friend that is a chef and she sells brownies by the square on the side... Ifyouknowwhatimean.
I've only tried it once, my friend got it for me from a pot bakery in downtown Seattle. I ate 2 of them, and even though I waited and waited nothing happened, it was disappointing :(

Sounds like you got lame stuff.

I meant to post this in January when I made it and the world was much more festive, but I guess that I forgot. I made this with my group in my High School cooking class. It's two layers of Black Forest topped with a layer of Dulce de Leche and coated with a nice buttercream frosting. I simply made the cake batter and baked it while everyone else did the fancy piping.

My cake was definitely cooled completely. I just suck at frosting and didn't make enough of it.

It's very difficult to make it look smooth when you're using a rubber spatula with no straight edge.

Well I for one am horribly offended.

You better bake something for us to make up for it XD

I will soon! My oven has been borked :(

here's some bread I baked about a month ago, I need to do smaller loaves because the inside was dough-y and not done but it was soooooooooo good.

Ok now slice that bread open. Add some mustard... a few slices of turkey. Maybe some tomato and lettuce if you have it.

Then get back to me.

Toute Suite :D

Lemon bars. Not my prettiest work but oh so good. I love the tart/tangy flavor of the filling coupled with the rich and buttery shortbread below.
