Declined Remove voteban

Why do we have voteban in the first place? It gets abused a lot (imagine how many people don't make a thread here), and if it's called for a valid reason an admin handling the situation would be preferred anyway. Take griefing for example, the other team would probably know nothing about it, all it takes a couple of friends to single out someone as a griefer and spam the chat to get enough votes. We need to remove voteban and replace it with the report feature, and get more admins if the current team can't deal with the increased amount of reports. It's not like we don't have enough applicants.

I personally agree 100% with said above. Generally, if someone really needs banned for a valid reason, why not call a admin? If we dont have enough admins, not everyone that applys for admin is bad for the position. And if you abuse /report rather then voteban, voteban has a direct consequence against another user. While abusing report doesnt have any effect against anyone except the reporter.

If someone got unfairly banned. Get evidence and post an unban and a report for the abuse. It is not difficult

Yeah I was vote banned yesterday as soon as I came on the server...have no reason why didn't pass of course. Most of the ones passed are good moves and not very often do I see someone kicked for nothing all though it happens. Just not going to make them happy by getting pissed about it.

Because votereport doesnt require you to minimize TF2 and make a report on the forums because some people just pick a random vote.

Honestly, when a voteban comes up, unless I know the situation, I always pick no.

Vote bans that do pass usually have a good reason and people who see this reason and hate it usually wanna get rid of it. People who do abuse it most likely wont pass due too other people don't see the problem.

There's a method to my madness. I don't go around the map with a blindfold on, if something banworthy comes up I notice most of the time. So, if i don't notice it, it's probably not worth banning for, so I just go with a no. Not that I'm perfect, but then again it's not me making the decision, it's the server.

Vote ban = 30 minute ban
Person who abuses vote gets banned for 1 day+ (depending on past bans)
If someone abuses vote and happens to get you banned, that person will be banned a minimum 48 times longer than you were banned

If the server isn't filled with dumb kids I barely see the problem, pay attention to what you see and don't just vote yes out of laziness.

But I do agree that not being able to change weapons can be annoying sometimes, especially in the heat of battle. (so poetic)
