I didn't realize that defending a friend who may be wrongly accused, having a mind of his own, not falling for the troll groupthink, and trying to keep a situation under control were bad qualities in an admin.

I dunno. TBH, Violet's actions there looked like abuse to me and what Giildy is saying, Spy has demonstrated short-sightedness ин blindly defending Violet who obviously abused her powers. Just imho, though.
That's just bias towards a friend as a friend, although I would strongly reconsider your friends if they behave the way she has as an admin.
I wouldn't consider that a whole reason to -1, some people are quick to think about their friends, but he defended her before her threat, or was at the same time as said threat.
When somebody says an admin has done something bad in their position you get a bit skeptical at first. Also because Lady Violet is my friend and also an admin of skial you tend to believe your friend over others. When I learned more about the situation and was shown some evidence of what had happened my position on the matter changed and I kept my head level and kept the situation under control without it breaking out into an exchange of insults, lack of a better word.
I didnt much about that situation until some evidence was provided like I said in my post above
I highly disagree that the entire thread was a "troll groupthink" being one of the main defenders of those people, I feel I acted with logic as did most people who posted in their defense - there was no need to refer to us as trolls.
That being said however, I concur - I think that it shouldn't be held against him he attempted to defend his friend, as when it was clear she was in the wrong near the end he stopped defending her..It really hasn't changed my stance on if he should get admin.
Also to add, in the future before blindly defending a friend it might be ideal to wait before all facts are out considering if you are in a position of power it will look bad for you to defend someone who abuses theirs.
