He should feel bad. WTF is he doing failing middle school classes? Either you have a learning disability or are not trying at all. Just not finishing projects isn't a good excuse. I'm sure his parents will be happy he thinks they're gay. It's a bit of a generalization, but my middle school had the kids that got grades like that, they turned into the kids who either failed high school or barely passed, tried to go to community college, then mostly dropped out and worked crap retail jobs. Out of the thousands of people I know of no exceptions. I got 2-3 Cs in middle school and it was just me slacking off. A gaming community forum isn't exactly the best place to ask for advice on this. If you can't focus, then you shouldn't be on the internet and playing games all day.
Everything you said makes me feel bad. :(

That's not what I'm saying, but I do realize that middle school could be a tough time for some people. For me it was the time of some extreme personality changes, bullying and my only retreat being the Internet. It was quite horrible. Then I told my mom about my bad grades, she gave me a slap to the face and took away my computer. I got better in school out of fear, but it was when I truly started thinking about what is good about me that I really started to do good in school. Perhaps mohawk is in the same situation, I dunno.

Whatever the situation might be, know this mohawkg2: You're not doing the right thing at the moment if you get those grades. Critizise yourself and reflect upon yourself, but also look at what you think is good about you. You're a nice guy, you seem to have good analyzing abilities, you seem to understand when something's right and wrong. I can't say more than that since I'm a guy on the Internet but... : p

If you ever need help with anything you can add me on Steam or whatever, I'm more than willing to help. : )
I was short, fat, and had glasses. I was like a lightning rod. When I got those C's I couldn't go on the computer for a month. At the time we had barely just gotten dial-up internet. Nowadays you guys are addicted from an even younger age.

Your best bet is to schmooze them and appeal to them for attention and support. Honest to God truth.

"Mom, I am extremely disappointed in myself for intentionally neglecting opportunities for me to succeed academically. With your motivation and guidance, I'm sure I can achieve a greater level of scholastic success."

That's me D:

Except I never got a D or F in my life. Even then I was told that I had a little bit of ADD (granted this was back when they thought 90% of kids had ADD in the mid-late 90s) and that I should go on medication. I never did and I still did fine. If you think you're really making a whole-hearted attempt at those classes then you need to get your parents to sign you up for at least a study skills class or something to make sure you're not doing it wrong.

I think it's wrong to compare yourself to him. Even if you've had it harsher, perhaps you had something else to motivate you, or just another situation in life in general. Don't be the "KIDS THESE DAYS..."-guy. : p

I think it's pretty fair. Kids will always be mean. I had mostly everything given to me as a kid. I had nothing motivating me. When my parents took away access I just got pissed off and I didn't learn shit from it. I had few friends as well. The only thing that motivated me was that I didn't want to end up a hobo or working as a cashier my whole life (especially after doing said job for 3 years in high school). That changed in college since I found a passion, but when I was his age I didn't have that.

Maybe he doesn't get everything handed to him, maybe he hasn't worked as a cashier, and perhaps this has made him unmotivated. He has most likely a different personality from you as well, perhaps he's more emotional for all we know.

If you have to work for what you have then you're going to appreciate it more. I'm just saying I had no motivators. Most people have the same kind of crazy hormone stuff happening around that age. Some people's grades dip. Obviously this isn't the first time though and there's only so many times you can blame it on emotions. If you're constantly depressed or something like that then you need to seek out help. At the very least talk to a guidance counselor about what you want to do with your life.

No, 90% of kids did not have ADD in those days. 90% of kids were spoiled fucking brats in those days. And lazy as fuck to boot.

Except now they're stuck taking riddlin for the rest of their lives because some doctor thought them running around and sticking play-doh up their nose was a cause for concern in a 7 year old.

No, they're stuck using Ritalin because the parents have no clue about meeting the emotional and social needs of these children. Parents are often too self absorbed and want to curtail the boundless energy that children have so that they can enjoy more leisurely pursuits. That and the teachers are sticking to a 1-size-fits-all Dogma with respect to teaching methods. The assumption is that learning only occurs one way. Those dumbasses don't understand that different children prefer to interpret and learn through other aspects of the representational systems.

I'd say you were fine, if it weren't for that 'F.' I'm lazy as fuck myself, but even I know that at the very least you need to do enough to pass a class.
