Buffer overflow occurs when to many people are chating at the same time, whether it be text or voice. It happens on saxton hale all the time.

You get the buffer overflow when a person with a reserved slot boots you off the server. I agree with Zebra that a client mute is the resolution in this case.
In the Saxton Hale servers, I've been on one with only 9 people and I get kicked due to "Buffer Overflow."

Micspam is against the rules anyway, so come on Zebra be an Admin.
Is micspam against the rules? Or does that apply to non-Saxton Hale servers, because I sorta like a bit of music playing while I'm kicking ass. After all, Risen doesn't really care as long as it's not retarted shit playing like inaudible static and whatnot.

With the VSH servers, the rule is a little more relaxed, but if it's causing buffer overflow it's a problem.

Agreed. Just imagine 5 people spamming at the same time. 2 music, 1 child under 10, and 2 more inaudible static. KJHBGFYHJAKBwubwubwubRDESDTFHGJBFDXSGwubawubwubVDXSFTwoooooooooooooooooooooooooowGDXSF

the problem at hand is that he was talking on his mic, repeating the exact same thing other people were. Thats trolling. It can easily be resolved by people client muting him. If it was a big deal there would of been a server vote on him. Which didn't seem to be the case. I am not going to ban someone because we got one report about him "mimicing" people.

Client mute solves most of the spamming problems. If the spamming keeps happening then i will ban the person.

locking it. Because the guy left the server so there is no point discussing if you think i am right or wrong.

Also. none of you guys have any idea what a buffer overflow is. google it

Edit: nvm i won't lock it. You guys can discuss it if you want. I just won't care to read past this
