Thanks DrRuelel! I was playing a demo man and was setting bombs near enemy's door. I think that is a very valid tactics. I was put in the enemy's situation for many times and that was fine with me. Why the other party are so intolerant about this? That sucks. If they can not beat me, ban me, My, what can I say?

Most people don't like spawn camping, it's annoying and is border line griefing.

well u are being a noob and putting stickies in the spawn so they had full right vote ban u i would get pissed if some little noob decided to keep putting stickies in spawn becuase they have no skill with the demo man so they have to do that

It's not against the rules, so if you don't like it, practice and get better at the game so you can get out of spawn.

I agree that I don't like to be trapped by that either, the same as I hate to get headshot when I am fully ready to attack. But I live with them because they are valid tactics, and people gain that advantage after they have enough experience. I am trapped so often by other people but I never complain, and it is not against any rules, and I am not playing foul whatsoever, so I think it is really unfair to ban people for that.

I fully agree with this! I tried again later several times but soon got busted by the other team. So this is really not something that is not beatable but a very natural tactics that you can win or lose. I don't understand why some people can't take it.

It is not griefing. Griefing is something you do to impede your own team. Spawn camping is tactical suppression.

Seriously I am far from the best, but really not many people can beat me comfortably. What I found is that those truly experienced players can get out of that adverse situation quite easily. Only those incapable ones are cursing and banning to get saved. What a pity.

Things to do when you're being stickycamped:

• Bonk Scout
• Uber
• Feign death

I agree it's an annoying tactic but it's not that hard to bypass.

Some bad players play loud annoying music, verbally assaulting other people, or blocking his own team etc. So it is necessary to have voteban. But it is bad to misuse it.

I think in those cases you're better off calling an admin.

Said the heavy.

Anyways, spawn camping isn't fun on the enemy's side of the battle, but it isn't any form of a bannable offense.

As a player that played mostly surf maps my first 1½ years in TF2, my ethics don't allow me to spawn camp. It's tactically superiority, and it's easy to bypass, but to me it's still an asshole move more than anything.

Also, I've noticed that votebans succeed in minor situations, but when someone's throwing out racial slurs and griefing their team then voteban is suddenly not good enough.
