Please! I got banned for no reason!!

Some servers encourage you to mic spam, others allow you to be the biggest cunt you can possibly be and some have low gravity, do we need to implement those now as well? well if people are very opinionated about stuff that 'disturbs' gameplay, i'm surprised that locking people inside spawn is not a concern, especially where a pornographic spray kickstarts a discussion to ban people who sprays stuff like that because it's too distracting, a vast majority of the good servers just happen to employ either rules against spawn camping, or gives measures to negate being unable to walk out of spawn.

also people votemute me in mind that's is temporarily (last time i've been gagged has been some time ago, but that's besides the point), not a global over all server, whilst being permanent, considering votemutes are so easy to achieve on any player, making them permanent and global would be a very bad idea.

there is actually a majority that don't want to put up with spawn camping, how many of you people like getting trapped inside spawn until the round is over? don't bullshit me by saying there is a majority that finds it fun to put up with that shit.

valve doesn't really address those issues themselves anymore, they have more aesthetic problems to attend to. valve knows that the community can fix stuff themselves, and they have, that's why server owners can get to choose whether they want a plugin to combat issues that aren't covered by valve themselves, it's a good system really; because some annoyances aren't shared universally, spawn camping however is a problem that is more favorite'd to be combated, rather than being put up with.
 
I agree that I don't like being stuck in spawn, it is incredibly frustrating, but making any kind of rule against spawn camping is not the right way to address the problem. It is much better to address the root cause (team imbalance) by using some kind of team scramble (which skial and every other pub server I have been on does).

Thanks! OK, I will still use it in the future. But if after a while when I find out the enemy really can not get out their door, I should just go to somewhere else, LOL

When banned. Don't be mad or anything. There are many other Skial servers to play in, and I guaranteed you that you will definitely have fun in another one! :)

Thanks a lot ZussyPoo!! I went back to the same server after about 20 minutes and everything was fine. I had never been banned before, that way why I got a little frustrated. I never feel very bad to have my enemy spawn camping outside my door, but obviously this is too much a challenge for some poor souls. I have been quite ruthless when I play, but obviously I should keep this in mind in the future...

TF2 is a team game, and you are fulfilling a part of the objective. So don't worry about other's opinion since you are simply playing the game!
Just make sure next time you are spawn camping, remind your team that they should also watch the cap. The chance of a spy or scout backcap is so high during a spawncamp duration.
And don't forget, you are here to have fun! :)

i would just implement some sort of immunity upon spawning (like other games have) so people can retaliate without having to resort to banning people, though my original post was more about to how shit it is to say that spawn camping is "tactical suppression".

Spawncamping is like using Dr. Enforcicle. Sure, it might help you, but if you're doing it you can expect to get your arse handed to you on a silver platter eventually.

who are 'we'? does that include you? you didn't explain shit, could you quote the post you believe that explains anything? or you can just to refuse whatever figment quote that floats around in your imagination, i've quoted some of the more legit arguments, including some of the more inane ones; none have a consensus really; you just say spawn camping is a tactic, i say there's other tactics people can employ which they can be banned for. i mean, once you regard one frowned upon way of fighting to be "tactical suppression", why stop there?

to call the logic used retarded (quite the heavy pejorative to attach to such a statement) you most likely have read whatever i wrote (unless like last time, which you admit to not reading anything and based your judgment on the parties involved rather than what they're trying to argue) and gathered some sort of an opinion on it, which made you call it retarded. calling it retarded indicates you are directly opposed to it, so you must have some stance on the matter, i could understand if you wouldn't want to indulge urself into petty skial drama however.
 
Spawn camping is a tactic that Valve intentionally built into the game and are taking no steps to stop. Exploiting is a tactic that Valve did not intentionally build in. Hacking is a tactic that Valve is flat out banning for.
