This comes up often... AllTalk is off and people want it on but the vote loses even though over 50% vote yes.

Also, sometimes there are some serious business rounds going on and people want AllTalk off. Again, it loses even with 50% plus votes.

I suggest that we admins are given a command to toggle AllTalk in case of such instances.

... no? My arguement is that if a vote doesn't pass then the required number of people didn't want it to pass.

Shouldn't you be asking to have the vote percentage lowered instead?

Admins don't have access to special console thingies.

:( Oh well, just a thought. Actually now that I think about it some more it makes sense that Bott would have the sm_cvar command locked down, it would be waaaay too easy to seriously mess some stuff up with that.

Yeah, that absolutely makes sense. The funny thing is that most regular users think that all the admins do have those powers. They beg us to switch maps and reset the server when it's weird and laggy. We can't.

However, I think that an AllTalk toggle would be harmless and generally useful.

i don't see the point really. if the majority wanted it on the vote would of passed. vice versa.

i have never had a problem getting it on
